My favourite Barbie outfits are always the ones that have some strong connection to fashion history. There were two such outfits in the ‘Designer Originals’ collection from 1979; - ‘City Sophisticate’ and ‘Velvet Touch’. They look so inspired by the so-called ‘rich peasant’ look that dominated fashion back in the late 1970s and was first popularised by the legendary Yves Saint Laurent in his historic ‘Ballet Russe’ Haute Couture collection a few years earlier for Fall/Winter 1976. That collection made front page headlines around the world because it was said to have brought back glamour and luxury to high fashion, (and Mattel, having its finger firmly on the pulse of whatever was happening in fashion as always, produced the ultra-glamorous Superstar Barbie and Ken that year, who were released in 1977! Here she is in that ‘Velvet Touch’ ball gown with her pal, European Western Barbie in that stylish ‘City Sophisticate’ coat ensemble, with a black velvet pouch bag from a 1978 Best Buy outfit,) American Vogue declared that collection was ‘The romance that shook the world…’(and you can see some of the layouts of that collection that appeared in their October and December 1976 issues to see the inspiration at its source… and as a special treat, here’s a video link to a short clip of that spectacular YSL Couture collection from 1976! : www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfsnSfFmObc )

Faz mais de um mês que essa belezinha está na gaveta, esperando para ser usado, mas dona Bianca Maria ficava teimando que era para demorar para usar, só que não aguentei esperar mais, então esse esmalte é p/ senhorita XD
O Jade Impérial (sim, tem acento oO) é um verdinho sujinho de cinza liiiinnnndo de morrer, foi paixão instantânea quando vi a primeira foto *___*
Ele é muito bem pigmentado, cobre já na primeira camada e o pincel é puro amor! Tranquilo de aplicar e limpar, praticamente não suja a cutícula por causa do formato do pincel e tem um bom brilho, então deixei sem top coat.
