In the "Mens Building" I found what was obviously a childrens ward.
No, it's not a "Lunesta" ad...
A foggy rainy day made for a challenge, but I did get some shots.
A lot of folks make almost a specialty out of these places, and they can be compelling. I just did an initial solo run to survey a site not far from me that I've never visited. Didn't get a lot of shots, but here's what I did get.
This facility started as a "poorhouse" ("almshouse") in the 19th century, then grew to a world renowned treatment center for the mentally and physically disabled. Late in its life it also housed a yourh detention center, and law enforcement offices. It's huge. I have only scratched the surface and done the later building served by a tunnel system. I will have to go back to do the main complex.
All shots done with either a Fujifilm X-E2 wearing a Fujinon 23mm f/1.4 lens, or a Fujifilm X-M1 wearing a Zeiss 12mm f/2.8.
