Citroën built the XM between 1989 and 2000. It was voted European Car of the Year in 1990. It was one of the last Citroën models with the famous hydropneumatic suspension.
"The 1954 Mercury XM-800 was conceived by Mercury's Pre Production Studio, Headed by John Najjar with assistance from Elwood Engle, and built by Creative Industries in Detroit. First shown to the public at the 1954 Detroit Auto Show, the futuristic XM-800 was promoted at various shows that year, also appearing in the 1954 movie, "Woman's World", and as a small model found in boxes of Post Grape Nuts Flakes. It was donated to the University of Michigan in 1957, later auctioned off to a private citizen, ultimately landing in the hands of famous concept car collector Joe Bortz in 1987. Under Bortz's ownership it became a drivable car, then sold in 2008 to current owner Richard H. Driehaus, who had it restored to its original glory"

What a sad surprise...! To find this particular XM at the scrapyard with a very recent M.O.T. and, if my eyes were not deceiving me, nearly 500.000KM on the clock...
Yet, it's not in the scrap corner... They parked it amongst cars that by my knowledge are being sold as a whole, either for parts or to fix up... Well, for sure, if that mileage is correct, this XM still looks really rather good... Inside and out... I think this is the first XM V6 in which I've ever experienced an XM V6 going from 0-100 flatout, while also putting a BMW to shame :-P Better still, I've got that on film =)

XMs definitely outnumbered Renault Safrane and Peugeot 605 etc.Not sure if many others were the V6 however, nor modified.
