Great Outdoors landscaping wanted a site to showcase their work as landscapers, as well as their beautiful nursery, which features rough stone water features and native desert plants. They wanted a design that would highlight the uniqueness of their business. They specialize in creating sacred spaces that provide nourishment and retreat.
I wanted the home page to create a sense of immersion on nature. For the home page, I ended up creating a montage of photos, blended together, from their nursery, with a semi-transparent text box that still hints at the images behind it. The "glass" buttons on the left are also semi-transparent. For the secondary page, I repeated the theme, but allowed a large area of a neutral green that would provide a simple backdrop for text and images, and placed on top of that a medium-width column with a drop shadow effect.
