Tuesday, October 2 2012: Disneyland Paris Halloween day trip with Bert.
This was a turning point in my webdesign. I wanted to go all out and make the messiest desk I could while maintaining usability.
This result was good, but the content needed more spacing and the links were designed for use with hovers and jQuery.
After showing the client, they liked it, but wanted a more sensible sidebar that instantly displayed links to information.

A new webshop + app for a local sportsstore is nearing completion this week.
For those who have seen it: yes, it's built on osCommerce, one of the most widely used Open Source webshop frameworks. This has one major benefit: a huge community of users that can help giving their support.
It also had one big downside: the current release osCommerce looks awful (if not changed) and is NOT based on web standards in its behind-the-screens design. It's based on nested tables, just as many other websites from the pre-1999/2004 period. We've completely revamped its structure and turned it into something that makes proper use of CSS & XHTML. This can help increasing the amount of customers a webshop can reach out to, and it decreases the amount of source code enormously! We have also altered the PHP used into something more Object-Oriented-like, without losing osCommerce's functions.

This one was going to be my new page upon the March 8th, according to what I had scripted into my agenda... due to numerous errands and business matters, I was not actually let.
Now it's a functional welcoming screen acting as a preloader to pagemodel_D0-beta.00.
The lay-out is always centered controlling document reloads and window resizes by the help of a non-obstructive programming script in MooTools Javascript framework.
Cross-browser, 100%HTML, clean, smooth and slick. See it on fullsize.

Does anyone know of a BBEdit-type program for the 1% of us Windows-based designers? Need color coding...
I am becoming a fan of this series. I would love to review this as it looks good.
I am not the audience for this book, but with a quick flip through it is seems to cover Web Standards well. I can think of many people that could benefit from this book, if it is as good as the three or four pages I skimmed looked.

The subheader ("Directions" beige paint) needs removed. It contrasts and throws the whole mockup off.
Otherwise I like this one a lot.
