Whilst out and about in Loughborough I came across this Morris Minor Traveller XFX 651B, 8th August 2020. The Morris Minor made its debut at the Earls Court Motor Show, London, in 1948. More than 1.6 million vehicles were manufactured between 1948 and 1971 in three series: the MM (1948 to 1953), the Series II (1952 to 1956), and the 1000 series (1956 to 1971). Initially available as a two-door saloon and tourer (convertible), the range was expanded to include a four-door saloon in 1950 and a wood-framed estate car (the Traveller), van and pick-up truck variants from 1953. XFX 651B is a 1000 series vehicle first registered in January 1964 and still going strong (taxed and MOTāed) fifty six years later.

This isn't the best photo as it was getting dark, but as it's the only X300 pick-up conversion I've ever seen I had to post the photo.

A recent addition to the Express Motors fleet is Optare Excel X606 XFX, pictured in Bangor City Centre working route 85 to Llanberis via Ysbyty Gwynedd & Brynrefail. The bus was acquired from Go South Coast subsidiary Damory where it was numbered 2606, but prior to that was in the main Wilts & Dorset fleet where it carried the same fleetnumber.
Numerically the last of the Scania N230UDs at NCT, 662 had spent a while off the roads after an RTC but I'm pleased to report that she's been back in traffic without a hitch!
The 65 plate Enviro 400s have always been unique in that they have white LED destination displays, though other E400s have had various retrofits in recent years.
She is spotted here on Cator Lane, Chilwell operating a 36. She randomly appeared, so I'm assuming she was subbing in for a failed biogas bus.

26.8.20 and the turquoise line theme continues with 662 - one of the spare buses used almost exclusively on the 78/79 - appearing on the 36. The weather was quite a change from the previous day and allowed me to capture the bus on Field Lane in the mid-morning sunshine, making for my best photo of either of the 65 plate spares as well as my first photo of a 65 plate in the new livery.

All the Excels originated with different operators, and the farthest travelled one was X606 XFX from Wilts & Dorset. With Criccieth and its castle in the background, it is nearing the summit of its climb, before dropping down into Porthmadog.
