If you look closely you'll see that the frog is being over run with small insects. Those insects might be water lily planthoppers: www.longleggedybeasties.com/2020/02/water-lily-planthopper/

i don't know why, but i love that movie. i don't remember it being really fantastically good, but something about it feels familiar. i keep going back to it whenever i want inspiration for photos.

Back in the late '70s when PMT, on behalf of the NBC were evaluating potential new types to purchase, Dennis supplied a low height Alexander bodied Dominator, Foden supplied their new semi-integral built in conjunction with Northern Counties and a pretty much bog standard (though Leyland 501 engined) VR from the existing fleet was included for comparison. The Dennis wasn't to prove very popular, though I don't believe it was unreliable. The Foden didn't acquit itself well, requiring bespoke transmission parts too often, so the VR won the day. Its victory would be short however as the Leyland Olympian came on stream shortly afterwards when Leyland realised that almost literally nobody outside London would buy their advanced integral B15 Titan. The Dominator was moved on to Maidstone & District where it joined others of the type within NBC, but the Foden was withdrawn as almost a new bus and never really ran again following the trials.

Anyway, again from Clem's collection, Dominator XBF 700S is seen on Newcastle (under Lyme) bus station whilst Norah Batty fumbles for her pass in her handbag.

Maidstone & District 5300 (XBF 700S), a 1978 Dennis 'Dominator' DD102 with low height Alexander H43/31F body originally new to Potteries MT and seen passing Luton (Chatham) depot 6/5/88

Two Stevensons tribute acts, photographed outside the once famous Staffordshire independent's Spath garage. This shot, and several more were taken on the return from the Stevenson's 90th anniversary event based on Burton upon Trent during 2016. It has to be said that neither vehicle here actually worked for Stevensons 'in real life', but both represented types where were familiar in the fleet.

On the left is ex Grampian / Mairs Coaches Leyland Leopard PSU4 Alexander 'Y Type' ORS 60R and on the right, Leyland Tiger Plaxton Supreme V XBF 423X masquerading as Stevensons UVT 14X. The Tiger had been new to neighbouring independent coach operator, Bassett's of Tittensor.

This photo comes from the PMT Archive and is another of those publicity shots depicting the year's new deliveries. Both vehicles are by this time standard NBC type fayre Leyland Leopards. Facelift Duple Dominant 1 XBF 55S on the left wears NBC 'Local Coach' livery, whilst Dominant II bodied GRF 268V on the right, in National white, is obviously intended for more coach like work. In practice though both types would occasionally do the opposite's work.

These Leopards were infinitely more well liked than their similar Dominant 1 bodied predecessors as they had power steering. Tales abound that the M/N registered examples had the heaviest unassisted steering many drivers had experienced.

The photo has the folly castle of Mow Cop as a backdrop. Not sure that you could even access this point with a bus nowadays.
