Captured recently along Mellieha Heights. The splendid combination of the overall scene coupled with the prevailing light & clouds were so amasing that I hope to have showcased this feeling in the final image. Thank you for your time to view.
Wandering around Manhattan with friends, without preparation or a personal agenda, the week after an anniversary that might have included impeding ceremonies, I had only a few minutes to capture a meaningful photo of the 9/11 Monument, failed, and settled for this somewhat austere land/city/sky/scape on the lower west side of Manhattan. Despite the monument’s obvious merits, I wondered about the wisdom of devoting such resources to reinforcing a wound that can never heal. I’ve lived in The New Yorker for half a century, Midtown for a handful of scattered weeks, all after the event, and am not entitled to an opinion.
Pumps cry a river.
Life goes on—no time for grief.
Still, it gives one pause.
Freedom’s just another
Word for nothing left to lose.
We still have plenty.

It's Xanadu in Sydney, lol.
It's 'Flower Power' on the Sydney Harbour Bridge pylons.
Photographed from a rock platform on the harbourside at Kirribilli.
So you walk down the sandstone steps from the Mary Booth Lookout Reserve (at the western end of Waruda Street), where you will see a mini jungle of Port Jackson fig trees.
Between these giant fig trees you will find an entrance to the rocks on the side of the harbour.
At night, and even at dusk, it is quite dark there (despite the lights from the bridge and the city) and so you need to use the torch function on your mobile phone so you don't crash into Sydney harbour.

Welcome to Darling Harbour, Sydney.
A re-edited version of one of the photographs that I have taken amid my night-time walking treks around Sydney, 2023-2025.
Photographed from the Pyrmont Bridge, looking south to the W-Hotel, the ICC (International Convention Centre), Sofitel and Novotel Hotels.
I have a number of versions and edits of the photographs that I have taken from this bridge at Pyrmont (Darling Harbour).

The interior of this building was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. I've only ever seen photos of it, but it looks amazing
When I saw this house in the hills, all I could think of was Xanadu in Orson Welles great classic movie, “Citizen Kane”, in which Kane’s luxurious and extravagant mansion was called Xanadu.
Xanadu ?! Or What.
I photographed this house and submitted a picture of it, once before. I happened to see it again, the other day and there was a lot of very dark smoke from a nearby fire that really made it look extremely dramatic. So, I took some new pictures of it. I have seen exterior shots of this house in movies & TV shows. But now, they have added (possibly an all concrete skateboard track) and as you can see it’s elevated on tall concrete pillars. I’m not sure what that structure is. But, that’s what it looks like.. That added structure probably cost more than most single family homes cost.

I posted an image from here a few weeks back.
This is showing the full height of the falls from the top to the mid section.
These falls drop off again to the right of this image, way down into the valley below.
The full falls are mighty to see and behold.
I have taken a little creative license with this one. Anyone who knows these falls should easily spot it.
It was a fantastic fog and mood filled morning to be down here, and I absolutely loved it.
Hope you like “Xanadu”, from one of my all time favourite bands, Rush.
