These are the special ladies a family member has given us from 2013 till now! I hope you enjoy meeting all of these wonderful dolls, and the newest additions to our collection.
Video:
These beauteous dollies all joined the family on Christmas day 2019! Our dear relative, Ray, has always been so supportive of our doll collection. Since 2013, he has graciously gotten Colleen and me each a boxed 80s/90s Barbie. But this year, he surprised us with FOUR secondhand 80s Barbies, who were mostly complete (in need of some TLC). Additionally, Ray rescued the rest of the ladies (and gent) featured here from the town dump. Someone threw out all of these dolls a few weeks before the holidays. Thanks to Ray, they got to live to see Christmas. Had he not thought of us and salvaged the poor creatures, they would have made it to a landfill or an incinerator. They truly are Christmas miracles, and I hope you enjoy their transformation! So much work, love, time, and money went into making these dolls as pampered as possible, which is why it took nearly a month to finish them up!

PERSONAL FUN FACT: As much as I love matchy swimsuits, like the ones that Barbie donned when I was a kid, I also adore the idea of a more realistic pairing. The star print top happens to be my favorite piece! The top and bottoms to this beach doll's getup do not have the same fabric. However, the colors compliment each other very nicely. That's why I was fairly certain this was a complete outfit, when I found Barbie wearing it beneath a dress. She had been rescued from the trash a few weeks before the holidays in 2019. Some of her other comrades from the "Christmas Miracles Lot" were still donning their original attire, but others were not as fortunate. I first pegged this Barbie as being one of the unlucky. But when trying to identify her, I spotted these bikini bottoms beneath the tacky dress she had on. It turns out, Barbie still had her headband too! It was stowed away in a pencil case with a few other doll accessories, that Ray had also pulled from the dumpster!

PERSONAL FUN FACT: This Beach Barbie was quite the remarkable find! Believe it or not, she was in the trash, just minutes away from death, when she was rescued. Our relative, Ray, works at the local transfer station. Knowing that Colleen and I are dolly fanatics, he always keeps an eye out for dolls/doll stuff. You would be surprised and appalled by what people choose to throw away. This Barbie, despite her barely used condition, had been deemed garbage by her previous owner. She was part of a larger group of dolls, accessories, and furniture. We dubbed this group the "Christmas Miracles Lot." Ray decided to set aside these trashed dollies as a bonus gift for Christmas 2019, to go along with the 4 1980s Barbies he had picked out from eBay. I was over the moon when Sue presented us with a large 5 gallon bucket, filled to the brim with random Barbies, Bratz, and Disney dolls! This Barbie was actually wearing an outfit over her swimsuit. I did not realize at the time that she had her original ensemble stashed away beneath it. But as we set out to identify the dollies on Christmas night, once at home, I knew she must be a beach doll. She has these large, oversized, unflattering feet, which are indicative of a beach line. I was trying to rack my brain to remember line names from the 2010s/late 2000s, when I lifted her dress and saw checkered swimsuit bottoms. Then I removed it altogether and found the coordinating top! This made identifying Barbie so much easier. She is stunning, and despite her somewhat Big Foot-ish feet, I still think she's a knockout. Plus, she is even more special, as she was a gift from Ray!
A fun afternoon snooping through several favorite resale shops yielded this sweet little haul.

If you happen to recognize any of these items I'd appreciate any ID help, thanks. :-)
Some of them are surely not "genuine Barbie" items
(in fact the little jacket in the group shot has a Lalaloopsy tag).
I think the pink lame pants are from Barbie Fashion Designer set - 2001 (Mattel #29399)
I do recognize the Bikini Bottoms from a Beach playline Barbie doll - 2012 Mattel #X9598
