Time Ticking..

Written by e5ty Fellah (candle of hope)

I’m sure you all noticed how fast time is ticking, or should I say how fast time is running.. I mean you wake up in the morning do a couple of things and when you check the clock you realize that almost 4 hours have passed while you did only a few things..

subhanAllah..

TO be honest, it is scaring me a lot.. to the extent that at times I can’t sleep at night from fear.. Fear of what?

Continue reading and you will know why..

As we know that time passing by fast is one of the signs of the hours, signs that show us how close the Day of Judgment is.

Our beloved prophet – Peace Be Upon him – mentioned that from the signs of the hours, the time will pass fast.. To the extent that a year would seem like a month, a month like a week, a week like a day and a day like a couple of hours..

Haven’t you all realized that this is what’s happening now?

All this proof yet people still have doubts that Islam is the true religion of all humans..

I remember when I used to tell my sis.. “When will you give birth to your child we are all excited” and subhanAllah two months have passed since she gave birth..

I remember telling her those words as if it was just yesterday..

SubhanAllah..

I remember when I started my summer course.. SubhanAllah, as if it was just yesterday..

Time is ticking too fast.. We are growing old fast..

What have we prepared for our hereafter?

There is not much time left..

What scares me the most, is that I know that almost all of the signs of the hours have occurred and I’m still not ready to face Allah.. I have a lot of things that I need to do, actually MUST do yet I have many obstacles.. but inshaALlah I will try my best to achieve it all ..

Stop wasting your times, specially in these coming days.. Because we are losing track of time.. so please seize every second..

May Allah have mercy on all Muslims..

I am highly amused every week at the supermarket checkout to read the sensational headlines on the rag newspapers.

Sadly people buy these rag newspapers and believe the contents......but they did get his age right :D

Love is written with P

Because to love you must have PATIENCE

In those moments when love tests us.

True love is written with P

Because the face of an unpleasant event

there must be PARDON and not anger.

Love is written with P

Because to get what you want you must PERSEVERE until you reach the goal.

The true love is written with P

Because PATIENCE, PARDON

and PERSEVERANCE are the ingredients necessary for that love endures.

Because love is also a word spoken at the right time.

And allow yourself to trust again.

It’s to remain silent listening to the other.

Because are the little things that

bind us to the beloved ones, day after day.

Stranger In Paradise

Written by - Robert Wright & George Forrest

Take my hand

I'm a stranger in paradise

All lost in a wonderland

A stranger in paradise

If I stand starry-eyed

That's a danger in paradise

For mortals who stand beside an angel like you

I saw your face and I ascended

Out of the commonplace into the rare somewhere

In space I hang suspended

Until I know there's a chance that you care

Won't you answer this fervent prayer

Of a stranger in paradise

Don't send me in dark despair

From all that I hunger for

But open your angel's arms

To this stranger in paradise

And tell him that he need be

A stranger no more

I have a book, written nearly a hundred years ago called Bird Facts and Fallacies by Lewis Loyd (1927). He says that like the Robin and Swallow, the Crossbill is said to owe its red plumage to drops of Christ's blood which fell upon it during its efforts to ease his agony on the cross. It goes on to say that it is believed, particularly by peasants across certain parts of the Continent, that the crossed beak resulted from its efforts to remove the nails from Christ's hands and feet, and remains as evidence of those efforts. Also, on many parts of the Continent realistic representations of the crucifixion may be seen by the roadside. Locals (he calls them natives) say that Crossbills may often be seen striving to pull out the nails by which the image is suspended.

I found this same story in another old bird book (Bird Lore by CE Hare 1952) which also has a three verse German poem translated by Longfellow describing this legend. I won't quote the whole poem but "At the ruthless nail of iron, a little bird is striving there" are a couple of lines from it.

I photographed this red male Crossbill not far from home a few weeks back. If you zoom right in on the beak you can just see the crossed tip of the lower mandible protruding.

The written history of Artziniega begins in the year 1272, when the King of Castile, Alfonso X El Sabio, granted Artziniega the letter-puebla. The Villa would be governed from now on by the jurisdiction of Bizkaia the natural one of the land, and for economic and tax matters by the jurisdiction of Vitoria. Until Don Tello's death, it belonged to Bizkaia, but upon his death, in 1370, he handed it over to his brother King Enrique II, who a year later handed it over to Pedro López de Ayala, the Chancellor, along with the valleys of Orozko and Llodio. While it belonged to Bizkaia, the Lord appointed the mayors, and later the town did so in an open council.

(Sonnet) a BED of ROSES... - written HTR Stevens

A bed of roses has many a thorn;

Pain, hardships and suff’ring are of earth born.

Life is not a road that runs smooth and straight;

They on whom we shower love may return hate.

Life has many a wild and worthless dream;

Yet, how many a low thing we esteem!

Power and all fade with the breaking dawn;

And with them all bright prospects are withdrawn.

Farewell to thee, o sweet and fragrant flower;

Power and Beauty take leave at Death’s hour.

Howe’er great or grand to men thou may be,

When Death looms o’erhead, no man can save thee.

Fare-thee-well, dear reader, be brave at heart;

Fight the good fight, then with a smile depart.

It's been awhile since I pulled out the Nikon D70s and the "nifty fifty" lens (Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D AF). So armed with the D70s, I decided to find the wine goblet again this morning (it's only water in the goblet, but its 5 o'clock somewhere!), as I watched the sun rise this morning. Hope everyone has had a great week, and I wish you all a wonderful weekend! CHEERS! This photograph is available as a limited edition poster of 500. Should you be interested, flickr-mail me and I'll send you a link on where to purchase a poster.

Appartently they can't read the disclaimer below, and have no spirituality and definitely NOT teachers, by stealing! Does it really hurt to ask to use a photograph??

This poignant letter was written 100 years ago during the Spanish Flu Epidemic by F. Scott Fitzgerald. There are many parallels to today.

THIS SIDE OF PARADISE: A LETTER FROM F. SCOTT FITZGERALD, QUARANTINED IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE

Dearest Rosemary,

It was a limpid dreary day, hung as in a basket from a single dull star. I thank you for your letter. Outside, I perceive what may be a collection of fallen leaves tussling against a trash can. It rings like jazz to my ears. The streets are that empty. It seems as though the bulk of the city has retreated to their quarters, rightfully so. At this time, it seems very poignant to avoid all public spaces. Even the bars, as I told Hemingway, but to that he punched me in the stomach, to which I asked if he had washed his hands. He hadn’t. He is much the denier, that one. Why, he considers the virus to be just influenza. I’m curious of his sources.

The officials have alerted us to ensure we have a month’s worth of necessities. Zelda and I have stocked up on red wine, whiskey, rum, vermouth, absinthe, white wine, sherry, gin, and lord, if we need it, brandy. Please pray for us.

You should see the square, oh, it is terrible. I weep for the damned eventualities this future brings. The long afternoons rolling forward slowly on the ever-slick bottomless highball. Z. says it’s no excuse to drink, but I just can’t seem to steady my hand. In the distance, from my brooding perch, the shoreline is cloaked in a dull haze where I can discern an unremitting penance that has been heading this way for a long, long while. And yet, amongst the cracked cloudline of an evening’s cast, I focus on a single strain of light, calling me forth to believe in a better morrow.

Faithfully yours,

F. Scott Fitzgerald

I was thinking of the Jim Croce song, Time in a Bottle, written in 1973 www.youtube.com/watch?v=dO1rMeYnOmM but all my bottles did not work so well so I used a wine glass instead, maybe I should call this One Day in a Glass.

ODC - ONE DAY is the topic for Tuesday 1st January 2013

for anyone interested in the lyrics

Time in a Bottle

If I could save time in a bottle

The first thing that I'd like to do

Is to save every day 'til eternity passes away

Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever

If words could make wishes come true

I'd save every day like a treasure and then

Again, I would spend them with you

But there never seems to be enough time

To do the things you want to do once you find them

I've looked around enough to know

That you're the one I want to go through time with

If I had a box just for wishes

And dreams that had never come true

The box would be empty except for the memory

Of how they were answered by you

But there never seems to be enough time

To do the things you want to do once you find them

I've looked around enough to know

That you're the one I want to go through time with
