Red Knots are plump, neatly proportioned sandpipers that in summer sport brilliant terracotta-orange underparts and intricate gold, buff, rufous, and black upperparts. This cosmopolitan species occurs on all continents except Antarctica and migrates exceptionally long distances, from High Arctic nesting areas to wintering spots in southern South America, Africa, and Australia. Red Knots from eastern North America have declined sharply in recent decades owing in part to unsustainable harvest of horseshoe crab eggs, and they have become a flagship species for shorebird conservation in the twenty-first century.

Romans 8:39
Someone has written that this snowdrop is a bit of a scraggly affair compared to the common, single kind. Nonetheless, I rather like it. Apparently it was already being grown in England in the Duchess of Beaufort's garden around 1700. Whether that was its first bedding I don't know but soon it could be found all over western Europe. And today it's a spring garden's favorite.
"Saw it written and I saw it say
Pink moon is on its way
And none of you stand so tall
Pink moon gonna get ye all
And it's a pink moon
Hey it's a pink moon..." Nick Drake: youtu.be/aXnfhnCoOyo
Venture outside on the night of Tuesday, April 7, to catch a glimpse of April’s full Pink Moon. This full Moon—which is a supermoon, the first full Moon of spring, and the Paschal Full Moon—will be visible after sunset and reach peak illumination at 10:35 P.M. EDT.
For the best view of this lovely spring Moon, find an open area and watch as the Moon rises just above the horizon, at which point it will appear its biggest and take on a golden hue!
We’re currently in the midst of a series of supermoons, with the first having occurred on March 9 and the last occurring on May 7. That makes April’s full Moon the second supermoon in this series, but certainly not the one to miss.
Thanks to the fact that April’s full Moon will be closer to Earth than either other supermoon in the series, it will be the biggest and brightest full Moon of 2020!
How big and how bright, exactly? On average, supermoons are about 7% bigger and about 15% brighter than a typical full Moon.
April’s full Moon is the first to occur after the March equinox, which makes it the first full Moon of spring and the Paschal Full Moon. The Paschal Full Moon is the full Moon that determines the date of Easter.
WHY IS IT CALLED THE PINK MOON?
Although we wish this name had to do with the color of the Moon, the reality is not quite as mystical or awe-inspiring. In truth, April’s full Moon often corresponded with the early springtime blooms of a certain wildflower native to eastern North America: Phlox subulata—commonly called creeping phlox or moss phlox—which also went by the name “moss pink.”
Thanks to this seasonal association, this full Moon came to be called the Pink Moon!

Communicating by written word, or even paying by cheque, are activities becoming outdated or obsolete. I love writing with this pen which I have had for most of my adult life, but nowadays such a pleasure is confined to birthday, greetings or Christmas cards.

It amazes me to think that the subtle, slow moving and constant forces of nature are seemingly always at work. Take an old railway track like this one where the force of nature has bent and changed the shape of this railway track. Simply Amazing.

“I've changed my ways a little, I cannot now
Run with you in the evenings along the shore,
Except in a kind of dream, and you, if you dream a moment,
You see me there.”
― Robinson Jeffers
John Robinson Jeffers was an American poet, known for his work about the central California coast. Much of Jeffers's poetry was written in narrative and epic form. However, he is also known for his shorter verse and is considered an icon of the environmental movement.

Photographed from A12 Prout's Island a Cumulonimbus Cloud over Sesekinika Lake in Sesekinika in the Township Grenfell in Northeastern Ontario Canada
Infamous for bringing heavy precipitation and storms, cumulonimbus clouds are huge clouds that can spread between the differing levels of the troposphere, towering up into very high altitudes (you can’t really miss them). Their tops seem to resemble an anvil.

Trader on his mobile shop; selling brooms and wicker ware from his customised moped with front loading bay, roof and display rails. He was plying the Klong Toei district next to the port and kindly granted a shot. But i think he wasn't quite sure what to make of the foreigner bending down to get a low viewpoint at his fantastic display :)

With majestic Ponderosa pines towering up to 130 feet overhead, I find that it’s easy to overlook the understory life quietly persisting on the forest floor. Scattered among the pine needles and shade, small Oregon Grape saplings like this one struggle for light and moisture, their holly-like leaves turning brilliant shades of red in early fall. Soon to be blanketed by snow in this northern Montana wilderness, these hardy little plants face a long battle for survival in the shadow of giants.
This photo was taken in early September in the Kootenai National Forest, just a few miles south of the Canadian border. The towering pines shape the forest ecosystem, influencing light and soil conditions, while the delicate balance of understory vegetation sustains much of the forest’s diversity.
Yay for the little guys!

This song, written by Bob Seger, it's one of the most haunting songs I know. It was covered many times by various artists, but this is still the best. The haunting voice, the desperation, the urge, the need to love and be loved.. a true masterpiece
I know it's late, I know you're weary
I know your plans don't include me
Still here we are, both of us lonely
Longing for shelter from all that we see
Why should we worry, no one will care girl
Look at the stars so far away
We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow?
We've got tonight babe
Why don't you stay?
Deep in my soul I've been so lonely
All of my hopes fading away
I've longed for love like everyone else does
I know I'll keep searching even after today
So there it is girl, I've said it all now
And here we are babe, what do you say?
We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow?
We've got tonight babe
Why don't you stay?
I know it's late, I know you're weary
I know your plans don't include me
Still here we are, both of us lonely
Both of us lonely
We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow?
Let's make it last, let's find a way
Turn out the light, come take my hand now
We've got tonight babe
Why don't you stay?
Why don't you stay?
