It is very important to pick up trash when you see it if you are able to. I myself for months now have picked up 3 pieces of trash every time I walk my dog around my neighborhood. In addition to that on world earth day this past year I put on waders and cleaned a nearby lake of all the plastic bottles and garbage I could reach. Single use plastic might be one of the most serious battles environmentalist face today.
