London and Barcelona travel sketchkit
My pencil wrap and my watercolour pencils. The colours that I use everyday are the same ones I am taking to Barcelona. I thought I had better draw them and make note of the names in case I lose and need to replace them through Europe.
I am also taking extra pencils that I have use at home, but don't carry around with me are
UniBall Signo white gel pen (excellent for writing letter over colour)
Saedtler Lomocolor permanent glasocrom - as a resist or to add white overtop (I rarely ever use the white watercolour pencils - but I don't use toned paper)
Paintbrushes - I use watercolour brush (ZIH medium) when out and about, but at home I use a 4 3 or 6 paintbrush, I have larger ones too. But my 13 x 20 cm Moleskine watercolour does not require me to use them often
For workshops in Barcelona I have bought :
Pilot V-pen
Pentel Pocket Brush Pen
Next week I am getting my new customised pencil wrap (made by Kaz) and I will take photos and blog about it then
(Re-up after further retouching. Deepened colours & tone, added damage to knuckles and a little more sweat.)
Phil in his wraps. He trains at a fighting gym in Birmingham. This is one of the photos from about a 20 min mess around.
The smaller bruises, bar the one on his collarbone, are real. The black eye and damaged knuckles are all Photoshop. Though he does have a small cut on his knuckle for real.
STROBIST: One o/c 580EXII at 1/4, bounced onto silver.
The heat rises to my face; a bead of sweat forms on my temple. I run to catch it only to sit and wait.
I am a very hot sell-out.

I went to Seattle over Memorial weekend to visit my good friend and fab photog Shellie (www.shutterboxphotos.com). We shot a maternity session together!
It was eerie. I set up the lights and they just worked perfectly, no tweaking required from where I'd set them up.
Strobist details: 2 285HV's, one of the left, one to the right, into a 16x56" gridded softbox. One 285 HV into a white 36" umbrella above. All optically triggered from the 144PC in my E-P3's hotshoe.
Oven roasted turkey, hickory smoked bacon, smashed avocado, fresh mozzarella, mayo, tomatoes, red onions and baby spinach. Served in a spinach wrap.
I got wrapped in saran wrap-all the way down to my toes. Then my ankles were duct taped, and I had to struggle to get free.
I really think that Fall is my favorite season. It is so pretty, the weather is perfect. The start of school, football, Halloween....what is not to love? Until Winter comes along, and then that will be my favorite. Oh but wait, then spring. Ah, and summer. Thank goodness for 4 seasons. Never a chance to get bored...

Just to warn all of you, there will be one more rainbowish picture coming! So this pictures wraps up a beautiful day. Made ham, potatoes, broccoli and sugar cookies for my parents and family and the best part I COOKED IT ALL PERFECTLY (which is rare...potatoes usually hard, cookies flat and crisp, ham usually ok because only lame-os ruin ham). The cookies were the best. I cut them out nice and thick, iced them and then added sprinkles. Santa will be happy tonight (yes my kids are going on 18 and 20 but I still leave some cookies out). I am hoping to take a family picture tomorrow.....I may need to bribe my son!
P.S. 72 degrees today here in Southern California! NICE!
