Once the pride of the Santa Fe fleet, this former Santa Fe SD75M, now owned by PRLX is showing its age with tattered paint and patches trying to hide its previous life. On the point of Q116, the train fights up the hill into Gaines, MI. By the time the tail end would pass by, the train would be quickly up to track speed.

The Scoop: all this is going to a power plant two towns south of where it is parked here. Apparently, my town was only being used to park all this while they prepare for their next move to the plant. It's part of a new turbine system being installed in the power plant. The person who gave me the info believes it shipped mostly by rail from Texas, and it's rail travels wound up in Windsor Locks, CT. (north of Hartford near the Mass border) From there, heavy equipment movers took the load over the highways, and into my town for that leg of the journey, roughly a 70-80 mile trip. Late last evening it made it's final leg of the journey from my town to the power plant, roughly 12-15 miles away.

This pretty little bee had a wounded wing. It kept jumping from leaf to leaf, but finally stayed still for a few photos.

This young Thrush has been in our garden for about a week now. We noted he only used one leg and through the binoculars could see it was carrying a leg and also had disturbed feathers on the same side. Possibly damage caused by an encounter with a cat. However it is happy fossicking around our gardens.

Eastern block of the Robin Hood Gardens estate, Poplar. Now undergoing demolition (the western block having already been demolished and new housing built in its place).

It was designed in a Brutalist style by architects Alison and Peter Smithson and completed in 1972.

Thanks to [https://www.flickr.com/photos/rogersg] for highlighting this building and its imminent demise.

Yesterday I posted a shot of one in pristine condition which showed the underside of the wings. This one in not so pristine condition, shows the top of the wings.

Straight from the camera.

Walked along a motorway for one and a half hours with Hannu Huhtamo looking for a specific cool looking location we had heard of but with no luck... Good thing we found this beautiful little icy pond on the way so had somewhere to light paint in!

Have a relaxing weekend. ! : )

Sadly many of the old fishing huts and other remnants have completely collapsed or disappeared. Every time I visit Dungeness, there is at least one less thing to photograph. Apart from a few of the old boat wrecks you now need to sear out for llittle details. This rusty post and cable caught my eye for a low shot with the 35mm prime.

The number of Veterans with PTSD varies by service era: Operations Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Enduring Freedom (OEF): About 11-20 out of every 100 Veterans (or between 11-20%) who served in OIF or OEF have PTSD in a given year.

A study released in 2022 found that as many as 44 veterans die on average per day from suicide when accounting overlooked causes of death that are aligned with suicidal and self harm behavior, which is 2.4 times greater than the official estimate.

All who bear this are strong men and women who have served. there is people out there wiling and wanting to help you. as a veteran advocate i stand with you no matter what. The picture i did captures the mental toll of war in an older man with his younger shelf placing his hand on his shoulder.

if you are a veteran and is seeking help here is a list of places for you.
