I had heard there was a wonderful view point of this fine mountain en route to the corbett, Beinn a' Chrulaiste, so I decided to take a wee look. The weather on this day was very challenging with strong biting winds, and snow/hail/rain showers thrown in. On reaching the corbett there was a complete whiteout - a strong snow blizzard and no view. You start to ask yourself why you're doing this...
However, on the return trip to Stob Beinn a' Chrulaiste there was a brief break in the weather and the view to Stob Dearg appeared. My fingers were just about active enough to press the shutter, so a small consolation although definitely worthy of returning for a sunrise shot one day...hopefully soon....

On the way back down from Old Man of Storr.
Sorry I'm a bit erratic with posts & comments. That's what more pothole enquiries than we've ever had and 50% staffing levels does for you! We typically repair about 40,000 potholes per year where I work but last financial year it was 120,000!! So if you hit one please don't swear at the poor highway people as their budgets have been cut a lot since 2010 whatever your MP may tell you. I certainly had to really concentrate on the road between Portree and just north of Staffin, there were some craters! Rant over!
The shot above was taken as I had started to walk back down from The Old Man of Storr. I liked the way the clouds were flowing up and over the land and the effect of the white coat Skye was wearing. Not a portfolio image (do I have any worthy? 😂) but one I liked and thought I'd post. I had hoped to be in bed sleeping off a 3am shooting the Milky way but the forecast deteriorated and didn't feel like risking a 90min drive to get to site for about 2am so am posting this instead Lightweight aren't I ?!!

It's amazing how it all unfolds

And, yes - I have shared with you
Many of these thoughts comes from observing others around me and from my own mess
I know I am not alone on this journey
Some of you are there too
And maybe, just maybe it can help one of you to read my journey
We need to tidy up our lives
When you are having bad feelings like jealousy, envy, guilt, hate and all what arouses imbalance within you - you must know that there is something you must deal with
It will then eventually go away, diminish, being lightened up, being put back to the place or person where it originally belonged
Because it is probably not yours to keep
Isn't that quite a thought
It is not yours to keep
We use time, We misuse time, We delay, We postpone, We are human beings
As easy as that
And as difficult as that
I love lighthouses
They are there for guidance and help on your way
I have my own lighthouse, it's there for support and love
It contains love from special loved ones, but the most important is the love I have for myself
Giving me a safe shelter when I have needed it
Comfort and rest
You can have it all
"Just" need to open up for it
It all comes down to being able to love yourself
Feeling worthy of love
Your own love to yourself
Respecting yourself
We all are from Love, of course we all are worthy love, breathe that in so you can rest in that, you too

Well the above shot might just illustrate it. I had been watching these courting Gadwall all morning doing circuits around the marsh. Usually a lone duck with an entourage of drakes.
Now I always thought it was just a flat out race to see who could keep up the pace and prove himself worthy of her attentions.
Just three frames in dozens of shots showed the above.
These drakes are fighting and barging one another out of the way has they try to get has close to the duck as possible.
Has you can see this meant she had to take some evasive tactics of her own to get out of the way.
Not very gentlemanly but 'faint heart never won fair Lady ' :-))

I always thought he was so handsome—movie star handsome! I don’t know the story behind this old photo, and anyone who could tell it to me is now gone. Why don’t we ask more questions when we’re young? I love this dog—I don’t even know if it was his—but it makes me think of the dog who was pictured with the old gramophone.
