The startup workspace. Roll over to view tags. I wanted to somehow build a kick-ass, superproductive design workstation on a startup budget. I mostly succeeded by cutting in places I could whilst still maintaining good hardware (e.g., the Wacom, the replica chair from Craigslist, the 13" laptop, bringing in my own auxiliary components.)

Great organization for art supplies, all the way up to the ceiling!
My new self-build workspace.
I like to keep my desk clean and well organized so I can focus on the project in front of me.
The walls are all decorated with reclaimed wood, I collected, dried and sanded, painted, oiled and sanded again ;)
The lamp is an old streetlamp that got destroyed in a storm last year. I managed to recover most of the parts and installed new parts in it.
I lasercutted a hole in the side of the lamp, so that all my cables from the monitors and speakers aswell as all USB devices can go into the lamp.
I then spraypainted it black and aligned to the table.
I cut a hole roughly the size of the lamps diameter (a little less) into the table so all my cables can go through.
On the bottom of the table there is a cable funnel to my PC and M-Patch (To switch from speakers to headphones and manage the loudness) so there are no loose wires hanging out.
For ergonomic and healthy sitting purposes I got a swopper as my work chair.

Everything a student needs, secondary setup, but the one I've been using more lately.
This is what greets me as I walk into my workspace every day. Stacks of animation paper to the left and to the right. That starburst clock does not work, but it is set at a particular time for a reason.
A new upgraded workspace. Wylee watermark not included, should spawn in centre of screen, Wylee 'W' can be used for credit but written credit is also required if used =)

An artist's loft in the Northern Warehouse Artists' Cooperative. Seen today during the St. Paul Art Crawl.
I made this montage of my workspace for my feature seller interview on Etsy this week & thought I may as well upload it here too.
Seems like we end up in smaller and smaller spaces. This is my roughly 30x40 inch workspace at home - for both digital and traditional work. Luckily I'm not doing to much freelance work at home, so I've been able to pare things down to a laptop. The watercolor work has been for fun, and to retain my sanity as I become less a designer and more a director/manager...
Textbooks? Digital.
Teaching tools? iPad.
Filing cabinet? Dropbox.
This is my simple little modern teacher home workspace (updated with my new computer!). I am plugged in, connected to my work, students, and learning network online. Plus I have space to work when I do have papers to grade. And yes, that is Mickey Mouse holding my business cards.
