Trying to keep my desktop from piling full of crap these days. I realized taking these pictures how out of place those little altec speakers are from 10 years ago. They've got to go! The leading candidate is a pair of nice M-Audio AV40's (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MUXJCO). The blanket on the left is for cat or baby, or both (http://www.flickr.com/photos/klaxon000/2049425070)

Nearly finished! Or at least most of the stuff was put away. See notes.

One is my MacBook late 2009 polycarbonate & the other laptop is the one I have received from school for being the student of the year. they bought me Win7 too :) It's Asus by the way

My workspace quickly sketched in watercolor pencils. Then I added ink and finally water and a bit of paint. Time spent on it 20 minutes while waiting for dinner to cook.

Following up on a mini-trend initiated by Paula and followed up by the Summervillain, here's a shot of my workspace...such as it is. Since my main job is teaching at UW-Milwaukee, the only consistent place I work is at home. Of course, my laptop is portable, but most often it's set up here. The desk and chair were inherited from my grandmother, and the positioning is a good fit for the stereo system. Yes, I'm the sort of geek who sets up a room by first positioning the speakers and determining where seating should go (at least for me) by where the stereo image is best. And yes I'm the sort of geek who lives in the past when "stereo" was the image in question...no 5.1 multispeaker setup here. To be fair, I wouldn't object...but the layout of this room and our TV would make it almost impossible to work well - and when that sort of set-up works poorly, it's worse than just yr basic stereo TV speakers, in that it aggressively annoys your ears with inappropriate placement and emphasis.

Fun contest: ID as many objects as possible. A lot of non-work (a/k/a fun) here as well...

yes thats about half a homestead sim worth of space, the entire skybox takes up the top 100 meters of the sim, and is plenty of room for madin flights for airplanes as well as other large builds

A more "conceptual" view of a workspace.

La Familia Tattoo is located at 627 South College Ave. in Fort Collins Colorado. La Familia is Fort Collins newest tattoo studio and houses three of Northern Colorado's up and coming tattoo artists. The shop is positioned at the southern end of what is known as Old Town, Fort Collins and is conveniently located across the street from its sister shop Tribal Rites. La Familia is a full service tattoo studio that boast a large number of Spanish infused artworks decorating the walls. The shops art and the artists’ works showcase their love of the old school Tattoo artists that have paved the path for the younger generation. The architectural semiotics celebrate the architecture of Hispanic settlers through the scalloped wall dividers and the red terra cotta tiles reflect the Spanish Missions style of design. The warm colors envelop the viewer and suggest a friendly welcoming atmosphere.

My housemate documented her workspace, inspiring me to do so as well. I hope she's not disappointed that I keep my desk at work markedly more organized than my room.

This is the little table I keep next to my sewing table. I need the entire sewing table (i.e. my dining table) to be clear of stuff, so I keep scissors and pins and coffee mugs and whatnot on a separate table within arm's reach.

Going to try out this layout for a while.
