The most important concept to understand is that we need to continually sit back and reevaluate where youโ€™re at in life and adjust your goals accordingly. Because the truth is your goals dictate your actions, and subsequently the actions you take will be directly correlated to how successful youโ€™ll be or... not be. Your goals from 5 years ago, along with the actions you took to accomplish those goals, are different.

 

I read this book called Vivid Vision by Cameron Herald. A book to help create a vision for the future so you can have a roadmap for the actions your do on a daily basis.

Hereโ€™s what I got in 4 steps.

 

Step 1 - Create a vision that is 3 years down the line.

 

3 years is specific because you donโ€™t want it to be too short and not too long.

 

Make that 3 year vision grand (I.e- being accepted into a dream school, landing the job youโ€™ve always wanted, being in a position where you are so competitive that schools canโ€™t say no).

 

Step 2- Write your vision on paper. (Brainstorm and then type it out).

The key here is to be specific. The book talks about how a mission statement or a one liner doesnโ€™t do justice to you or your mind when it comes to bringing your vision to fruition.

 

So...when creating your vivid vision....describe what it feels like, what it looks like, whoโ€™s there, what emotions do you have, what are you going to be most proud of, whoโ€™s going to be proud of you, what type of person will you be?

 

Step 3 - Print out your vivid vision and share it with your inner circle.

 

Step 4 - Reread your vision weekly and align your actions accordingly.

 

So there you go... I think itโ€™s so important to continually grow and become the best version of yourself. But sometimes, in order to do so, you have to start with a vision.
