Silhouette of a man walking with a cup of coffee, talking on the phone while crossing a bridge a part of an array of bridges connecting two office buildings. The man seemed to be in too much of a hurry to even take a coffee break . #fastpacedlife #worklife

His posture says everything: pride, patience, and a touch of humour. Leaning against his shopfront chalkboard, this butcher becomes a landmark of the street, as rooted in the scene as the brick and stone around him. An ordinary workday frozen in a charismatic moment — the kind of encounter that makes a town unforgettable.

Hi.

Me again. Sorry not been on much but its been a quiet start to the year photography wise for me. Big change in my worklife and generally as a woodland pghotographer not much going on this time of the year. Bring on the bluebells i say!

However, Lonely Joe here has become a bit of a muse for me recently. I have decided to do a year long project on him, photographing him every month and then at the end of the year putting together a year in the life of Joe series. This is februarys effort and boy this sunrise caught me off guard! It was looking pretty boring but a sudden break in the clouds on the horizon and suddenly it went like this! Just goes to show, always stick around even if it looks like its not going to happen as sometimes, just sometimes, it kicks off.

"Straight out of the camera, a blue hour image of the Londons City Hall in the early morning blue hour... the morning twilight gives a modern space-age sheen to the modern buildings in the moonlight..."

Captured during a business trip in the Fuzhou area, this black-and-white image shows workers focused in a small factory workshop

I have been wanting to shoot this image for a while now. I am really glad to have finally shot it. I am hoping to make this the fist of a series.

Big thanks to my friend Jordan for locating the cubicle for me. Also to my friend Dan for struggling it into the woods with me and helping me set it up.

There will be a sort of making-of video for this image later on.

“After coming back to China, I have become an office worker. Most of the time I stay in the office and can only take photos on my way to or from work. During this time I noticed there were all kinds of people doing different kinds of work in this big city, everyone seemed to have own experience and story. So I tried to capture moments which can reflect their true status in work.” People At Work by Teddy Ye (2|4)

London's 'Manhattan' - complete with aurora borealis, alien spaceships and assorted other reflections and artefacts...

Captured in stark monochrome, this image pays tribute to the silent dignity of manual labor. The silhouette of a worker mid-gesture, hand raised in rhythm with the task, reminds us that behind every structure stands a human story built with strength, repetition, and perseverance.

Bash bash bash & even more bash bash bash !

“When I was taking the pictures, people didn’t notice me most of the time, because we are all just focused on what we’re doing. It’s more obvious in big cities like Beijing or Shanghai.” People At Work by Teddy Ye (3|4)

I worked for a decade in my early worklife in a building on the right hand side of this pic. I had a view of the left bank in this picture. Back then, it was an industrial wasteland, chimneys, brick factories and if I recall, a sign for Allens mints dominating the industrial skyline.

Editing another article & coming up with ideas for the next chapter of my column. @ Guy Magazine on Secondlife
