In the UK this rare orchid is now confined to the southern part of England where it lives in short, cropped grass on chalk or limestone. The small size and overall green-yellow colouration would make it difficult to find although it can be in such huge numbers at Noar Hill that it doesn't take you too long. The name comes from the strong honey scent.

Early stages of work on my sculpture (which also acts as a 3D drawing), Tattooed Tumour Box. Eventually it will be a plywood box structure with other boxes emerging out of it, like an out of control tumourous growth. And every plane of the sculpture will be covered in drawings of materials that I've collected (often intended for use in other sculptures), all morphed or entwined together.

I bought three canvases last week and they have been intimidating me ever since.

Two are needed for projects which I have almost finished and the other ( the largest) is for an exhibition in the Autumn.

I took the plunge today as the weather has improved overnight and prepared the backgrounds for the first two pieces.

One is covered with tissue, the other with pieces of French newspaper. They will both be coated with gesso later

Shelving units I will be using to hold the tray-size plastic boxes I store rocks in and sell out of at the gem shows (now my primary type, although I do have larger ones for any rocks that will not fit into those.)

Decorative grid sample. The strips are felt, decorated with heat bonded enamelling powder and the links are painted paper. This could be developed further

I'm starting some mixed media pieces which require some preparatory work.

This picture shows the result of ironing the inside of a crisp packet between two pieces of plain paper.

I may leave it unadorned or I may decide to paint or otherwise embellish it.

Okay so there is this person that keeps getting rid of this really great vintage knit fabric. All I have to say is one man's trash is another man's treasure. Gosh I just love thrift stores.
