My first feet shot for Unravelling. It's not much of a photo, but it says a few things about me. Those are my running shoes. Running's not something I took to easily, but becoming a runner* is one of my most treasured accomplishments. The Welcome mat is brand new, and reflects where I come from - Annapolis, MD.

*Loosely defined. I'll never run a marathon, but I'm proud of any 3-mile day!

This is an older photo, but one I wanted to include in the set and just got around to processing the other day. Sorry if my photostream gets a little random at times...no, I'm not in Venice again. ;)

NEW CAPITALISM: THE CHALLENGES OF RUNNING A SOCIALLY

CONSCIOUS COMPANY

Hosted by Workday

“Purpose and profit” is no longer a platitude, but a marching order from employees and customers. An empowered workforce, innovation from diversity, climate commitment, and what’s good for the community require the CEO’s attention as much as the financials. During this major shift in corporate ideology, CEOs must balance standing up for their values, and those of stakeholders, without being sucked into a quagmire of notoriety. What are the incentives for CEOs to act, beyond superficial fixes that might invite skepticism? How far is too far when speaking out on polarizing issues? How can we leverage CEOs’ power to create a sense of shared purpose?

Once a month - during the winter months - the members of RIMAG - Risley Moss Action Group - go out on to the moss land to chop down encroaching birch and hazel which would dry out the peat bogs. Risley Moss is an important site and one of the largest preserved areas of moss land/peat bog in Europe.
