This is one of the coolest snow creations I've seen! The person who made it spent a lot of time on this.

This is a dog that accompanies its owner to the cafeteria everyday that I used to frequent. He is always by his masters side whilst curiously observing passersby on the street.
Ever since the worldwide lockdown the demand of pets have tremendously increased all over. Sadly, as the world is beginning to open up large number of pets are being neglected, as their owners are back to their usual selfish ways without a care for the adopted pets, environment, society and the list goes on.
An embarrassment to the human race. What would they do with the next lockdown just around the corner ?

Poppy is most perplexed that Rio out Quaker parrot has flown down to sit on her dog bed. She used to be similarly obsessed with Peggy one of our ex-battery hens as you can see by this photo, right paw stretched out. It's just in her nature I guess www.flickr.com/photos/juliek1967/11256821753/in/photolist... She likes to sit under his perch & he drops food for her, sometimes her head is covered in crumbs lol.
Rio thinks he's a dog, when our 3 bark he mimics their cacophony. When I feed them their dinner he flies down on the floor & tries to join in. I keep telling him he'll end up as dog food but he doesn't listen to me. I think he's safe enough as they generally give him a wide berth!
This huge German Shepherd dog barked every time we passed by his house but I think he got to know us and was just saying 'Hello, have a nice day'. I am sure if he had been let out he would. have allowed me to pet him and I just love these big German Shepherd dogs.
In the style of...Elliot Erwitt for Smile on Saturday.
Elliot Erwitt (1925-2023) was a French-born American photographer known for his black and white photos of ironic and comical situations in everyday life. Dogs were one of his favourite subjects, producing four volumes of photographs. Well aware of my love for dogs and the photography of Erwitt, my husband bought me this book for my birthday last year.

High up with Arcow Quarry workings to my right and A1 Pacific 60163 with a clean fire works well up the 1 in 100 from Helwith Bridge with the second day of the Tornado & Flying Scotsman charters. I was under the impression this leg was to be Scotsman but a decision was made to swap them round.

You think he is posing so nicely, huh? Nope. He was chasing a lizard up this tree and I snapped quickly with my phone. Enjoy the holidays...they go by quickly. Hope Santa is good to everyone's pets.
Our Papillon Rigsy having fun at the lake.
Beauty: Ears that resemble the outspread wings of a butterfly, a long flowing coat, and plumed tail all contribute to the Papillon’s elegant grace. Lovers of the breed refer to it as “sensible glamour” because Papillons are relatively easy to groom. In fact the phrase, “I woke up like this” may have been coined with the Papillon in mind.
Brains: Papillons can be trained to do almost anything. They thrive on mental stimulation and work. Far from being just ornamental, the Papillon’s trainability and eagerness to please help him excel in everything from dog sports to tricks to the show ring. Papillons also tend to learn from every experience, whether good or bad, so consistent, positive training is a must. With all that brainpower, there’s no end to what you can teach him.
Versatility: These lively, alert little dogs are good at everything they try. In fact, they’re one of the most popular toy breed in obedience trials. They do well in agility, too, and seem to fly over the obstacle course. They’re also natural retrievers; try one out with a miniature Frisbee and see who gets tired first.
