What could be better?
Tracey and me and Patches took a nice walk along the nature trail at Ribby hall. It’s not far, just a couple of miles. But lots of it is on a path through beautiful woodland. This photo is just at the start before enter the woodland.

The wetlands of Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. A place the wild horses like to graze and shore birds nest. The horses are seen off in the distance. This was taken on Woodland Trail. Woodland Trail is an easy 1.6 mile walking and bicycling paved trail. I think it's wheelchair accessible also. It starts out flat but there are some inclines once you get back into the trail. Bring insect repellent which is also available in the park store. The mosquitoes are pretty bad. The fence is probably to keep the idiots out. I actually saw a sign that read "Do Not Attempt To Ride The Wild Horses". #NPS #ChincoteagueNationalWildlifeRefuge #wetlands #WildHorses #WoodlandTrail #green #vert #Grün #grass #Gras #herbe #horses

Trees with an overgrowth of vine along the blue trail gives one the feeling of being in a tunnel.

As the sun rises and morning breaks through the Maple trees it cast fantastic shadows throughout the woodlands
This is a woodland walk and in the springtime there is a carpet of snowdrops and bluebells. You will also be able to enjoy the background sound of birdsong. The path winds along the Overtoun Burn and the sound of the burn gurgling down towards The Clyde is a constant companion on the walk. The path was originally created in the 1980's but has recently had work done to improve signage and to renovate bridges. Quoted from the 'Out and About in Scotland' website.

Hessian Lake, a 44 acre lake lies at the foot of Bear Mountain on a plateau nearly 1,000 feet above the Hudson River in Bear Mountain State Park. A walking trail surrounds the lake. Digitally painted from a photo by my wife Barb. Print size 8x10 inches.
