Yeah, they're specific, so they get labels to help mom out when she unwraps them. Also, bubble wrap!
Holes are predrilled to a good depth, and perfectly in their marks. Time to attach the cabinet door catchplate.
Another little clamp party joins the glued-up side walls to the skeleton of the box, created by the floor, front, back, and dividers.
I decided as night fell to just get this little thing done. These are the cabinet door catches that will pull the doors firmly closed, and keep them from swinging open again. I've flipped the door on its top, and shimmed up this catch, after aligning its catchplate vertically in the wheels. Now I'm marking off the holes for pre-drilling, that I may attach the catchplate to the back of this door.
Here's the difference. The left box is right after a glue-up, with no sanding. The right side has all rounded-over edges, finely sanded faces, and a sand-rounded through-hole on the front face.

Too prove things for myself, I set the catch on the top of the stand, and put the door upside down before it, clicking them together. The both sat flush on the stand top. These should work out great.
The hinge mortises came out of the router table just perfectly. Here, I've draped a hinge across both doors, just to see it.
When the pieces turned out to be slightly too long, I cut the ends off with the band saw. This thing makes pretty accurate little shavings.
One last shot of the hinged doors. They won't be together like this, but will be on opposite sides of the TV stand.
This box had almost no grain to it, and felt much dryer than the others, as though it was older, and more dried out. It took the dye best of all, but still not as I had hoped. Again, this was a sad time in the build. I was going to have to fix this somehow.

Here are all the little boxes at last. Previous sets never showed the magazine box finished, nor the larger of the small boxes. This is the full set. That box on the left looks like it's made of a different wood, but it's just a different part of a poplar tree. I'm hoping stain will make them look great.
I forgot I'd saved the cutoff ends of my first big panel glue-ups here. They are composed of alternating 1x3 and 1x4" board ends, 5 in all per strip. This is where this one was originally, before I cut the glued-up panels to length.
