ODC = Sleep

Mr. Nixon's favorite way to sleep is on the biggest nest of blankets he can make. Our boy is doing amazingly well since the surgery to remove his tumor. We received wonderful news from the vet that the tumor was actually benign. The aspiration had cancer cells in the blood however the conditions were not right for it to grow so for now all is clear and we cannot imagine a more wonderful Christmas present. Tomorrow he gets his funny green whiskers taken out and he will be good as new.

Once again we have found ourselves in the terrible position of having to make the decision to say goodbye to a beloved furbaby. Mr. Nixon has cancer, his body is riddled with tumors and very soon his quality of life will rapidly decline. We have made the very painful decision to let him go before he begins to suffer any more, it is so very very hard to do but as a kindness to this beloved faithful boy we must let go. Today he crossed the rainbow bridge to be with his best friend Shiloh who left us two years ago. So long my chubby wubby goober woober, oh how you will be missed....I hope we were worthy.

ODC - Right angle

Mr. Nixon's wonderful squished face makes a lovely right angle. For those who knew he had a tumor removed he continues to do just fine, in fact he's feeling his crazy goofy self these days. If any of you have older dogs I can personally recommend Cosequin to help with their joints. Mr, Nixon has had a limp for well over a year, we tried him on Flexpet for most of that time and it helped but still didn't quite get rid of the limp.I refuse to use Rimadyl and so I switched to Cosequin 3 weeks ago and what a difference, he is back to play battling with Little Bit and she is probably wondering what the heck is going on since she was used to winning...the old boy still has it:)

ODC=Peek-a-boo

Our beloved Mr. Nixon checking out whatever his doggie nose drew him to:) Gosh he sure is getting gray....kinda like his mama and papa....

Here is Mr. Nixon post op, he might not look too happy here but he is doing extremely well, eating as much as we will give him, playing (supervised) with Little Bit and generally being his wonderful nutty goofy self. We should know in a couple more days if they were able to get enough surrounding tissue for a clean surgical removal of the tumor. How lucky is he to have so many natural wrinkles that you won't even be able to tell he had surgery when it is healed. When I took him to the vet for the surgery I told him he was going in for a chin lift, I hope he won't be disappointed with the results:)
