A Wolf has 42 teeth: the upper jaw has six incisors; for cutting flesh, two canines (also called fangs); for piercing into flesh and holding prey, eight premolars and four molars; for slicing and grinding. The lower jaw has six incisors, two canines, eight premolars, and six molars. The last premolars on the upper jaw and the first molars on the lower jaw are called the carnassial teeth; specialized for slicing through meat. The canines may reach a length of 5.7 centimeters (2.25 inches), which includes the area set within the jaws.
Experts have surmised that Wolves are capable of a jaw pressure of up to 105 kilograms per square centimeter (1,500 pounds per square inch). This is about twice the jaw pressure of a German shepherd.
These wolves are kept in captivity for educational purposes.Before being introduced to them, we were taught to howl , in order to introduce ourselves.Look closely and you'll notice the old lady (14 years!), is howling back.

They were out and about today! You don't always get to see them, but today they just seemed to follow us around.
Magpie is an 8-year-old female who is an educational Ambassador Wolf at Mission:Wolf, a wolf sanctuary in Colorado.
This is Thor, a blind wolf (cataracts). In the wild he would have died long ago, but he has a pretty good life at the wolf sanctuary. Here he smells the frozen steak snack that's been brought out for him.
Volunteers worked along the Freret Street corridor weeding, collecting garbage, and removing graffiti.
Wolves on the Prowl is the Loyola community's annual day of service. Events are planned and led by the Loyola University New Orleans Alumni Association and Student Government Association. Members of the Loyola community are paired with programs throughout the country that need help.
Wolves in the new Teton Trek exhibit. They kept turning around to face that direction every time the Elk across the way peeked out from behind the trees.
So we went wolf tracking in Poland. Our guide, who's been touring the park for the last 15 years has never managed to spot a wolf so I didn't have much hope to see one. But on our walk we spotted so many tracks (3 paws here) in the sand and this one in particularly where the wolves recognised the scent of a red deer (tracks spotted few feet further) and went a bit crazy. Oh we saw some wlof kills as weell (old skelettons) Very exciting!
Donc nous sommes allés pister le loup en Pologne. Notre guide qui fait visiter le parc depuis 15 ans n'a jamais vu de loup donc j'avais pas beaucoup d'espoir d'en voir un. Mais lors de notre randonnée, nous avons repéré de nombreuses traces (3 empruntes ici) dans le sable où les loups ont reconnu l'odeur d'un cerf (on a vu les traces du cerf a quelques metres de la) et sont devenus un peu fous. On a aussi vu des squelettes d'anciennes victimes de loup - impressionnant!
