This was taken during the fur auction at Fur Rendezvous Festival in downtown Anchorage. The festival dates back to the 1930’s when Alaskan trappers and miners came into town with their winters yield. It has now become an integral part of life in Anchorage and provides a welcome respite to the cabin fever that is in full strength at this time of year. There are many events including the biggest sprint races of the sled dog racing calendar.
A wolverine fur up for sale - this is supposed to be the warmest fur of the lot.
