Highlight Towers - Munich - Germany
The Highlight Towers are also called "the northern gate", because the towers are located at the end of Highway Nr. 9 (Berlin - Munich).

Ein abendlicher Spaziergang zur Radio City Music Hall ist durchaus empfehlenswert. Man kann leicht durcheinander kommen bei dem was da alles so los ist.
An evening walk to Radio City Music Hall is quite recommendable. One can easily get confused with what all has going on.

A shot of the famous skyline of Pudong's Lujiazui financial district, just before the decorative lights are turned off.
And again sorry, due to flickr's inability to properly save local language tags since late Sept. 2022 and no fix in sight (no UTF-8 support in tags, it appears only characters from the stone-age "Code Page 437" work correctly), the tags are incomplete - I had to omit some tags, and because the 浦东 causes flickr's tag parser to create gibberish it is placed at the end of the list.

Roppongi Hills' Mori Tower. This 54 storey high skyscraper is probably the most famous building in Roppongi - finished in 2003. It is now the home to shops, offices, an art museum and restaurants, and quite the landmark.
The only group of three supertalls, at night.

The Highlight Towers are twin office towers located in the the Parkstadt Schwabing area of Munich. With a height of 126m resp. 113m they belong to the tallest buildings in Munich.
The towers are connected by two glass/steel bridges, a double bridge at the 9th/10th floor and a single bridge at the 20th floor. Design by Murphy/Jahn (Chicago, USA).

The world famous lobby view in the Grand Hyatt Shanghai, located in the Jin Mao Tower. Shot from the 85th floor - at the "bottom" is the Patio Lounge, located on the 56th floor - and above is the observation deck on the 88th floor.

The upper part of the HVB Tower, formerly also known as "Hypo-Haus" (Hypo-House) is the headquarters of the HypoVereinsbank, a brand of Unicredit Bank AG.
This 113.7 meters tall Skyscraper in Munich was completed in 1981 and was renovated recently to meet modern energy standards.

The twin towers of the IFC complex in Shanghai Pudong. Left is 2IFC, the right tower is the "new" HSBC Tower (the former HSBC Tower is now occupied by the Hang Seng Bank). The lower parts are occupied by the IFC Mall - and an underground Apple store.
The "IFC" name and the style of the letters are same as Hong Kong's IFC - because it's the same Hong Kong based investor.
Between the two IFC towers the Shanghai Center peeks through.

Das Flatiron Gebäude gehört zu meinen liebsten Häusern. Die einzigartige Fassade und Bauweise sind schon etwas ganz Besonderes für mich. Wenn ich auch nicht erklären kann warum.
The Flatiron Building is one of my favorite houses. The unique façade and design are something very special for me. Though I can not explain why.

The two angel statues in the Lujiazui Central Green Area (陆家嘴中心绿地). In the background the SWFC and Jin Mao Tower - before somebody asks, the Shanghai Tower is completely hidden behind Jin Mao from this point of view.
Blue tone by setting the WB to "Tungsten" and flashing the angel statues. WIth AWB and no flash you'd get green angels and a brown sky - yuck!

No, these are not the skeletonized remains of some cooling tower - this is actually a piece of art, named "Mae West", after the actress.
The 52 m tall sculpture designed by Rita McBride was built from Oct. 2010 to Jan. 2011, the material is CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced polymer).
In the right background is the 113.7 m tall HVB Tower, one of the better looking modern buildings in Munich, completed already in 1981.

The "Pearl of the Orient" TV tower and the surrounding skyscrapers in the Lujiazui financial district as seen from the Garden Bridge (外白渡桥).
As this was taken just past 10 PM most lights on the Pudong side are already switched off, this makes the Pearl Tower stand out even more.
The white "column" on the right behind the bridge truss is the "Shanghai Monument to the People's Heroes" (上海市人民英雄纪念塔) usually shortly called "Heroes Memorial". A concrete structure of three columns in the stylized form of three rifles leaned against each other. Here this monument is seen from below.

This is a view from the famous Victoria Peak towards buildings in Wanchai. The more common shot taken from the Peak is the "Ocean of Lights" wide view....
The prominent skyscraper is "Central Plaza" (中環廣場) and has long been the tallest building in Hong Kong before the taller 2IFC (國際金融中心二期) was built, which itself was surpassed in 2010 with topping out of the ICC (環球貿易廣場) on the Kowloon side.
During my time in that area I did have an office in Central Plaza.

Low hanging clouds obscure the upper part of the Pearl of the Orient TV Tower.

Photo taken from the "Rainbow Bridge" (彩虹桥) - a place where you get a pretty clear view, no tourists (Chinese or foreigners) and worth a photo or two in itself.

Das ist wohl eine der Touristenhochburgen überhaupt. Vor ein paar Jahren waren meine Nichte und ich, für kurze Zeit, ein Teil davon. Ich muss gestehen das pulsierende Leben, die ganze Atmosphäre und die hohen Gebäude haben einen grossen Eindruck bei mir hinterlassen.
This is probably one of the main tourist tracks ever. A few years ago were my niece and I, for a short time, a part of it. I must confess the vibrant life, the whole atmosphere and the tall buildings have left a big impression on me
