I came upon this little Foal when I was out walking the dogs I think it was only a few hours old as it was having trouble just standing up.

Didn't get too close as I wanted the mum to stay calm.

Went back the next day not even 24 hrs and it was running around the field like a professional.

Taken last summer at the Farne Islands.

I really like the wall as it follows the contours of the land. Although its now the end of January there is still plenty of colour.

This is the Wobbly Tree at Exbury Gardens. (I think that's what it was called) It grows at 90 degrees offset, parallel to the floor. Most odd. About 16 shots stitched in MS ICE. I should have taken my fisheye....

A little experiment with milk, which I will certainly repeat again. Then with a more sophisticated technical structure and a little more time – not so easy ;-) The glass is actually tipped over by pouring and the whole milk has spilled in the garden. The experiment ended abruptly ...

The girl spent most of the next three days cleaning the theater, scavenging chairs from other buildings, and even finding some curtains that could be used to dress up the stage.

The Angel would drop in occasionally, to watch, or sit and chat, and on one occasion to do maintenance on her leg frame, which fascinated the girl.

"Does it ever hurt?" she asked the Angel, who was tightening something, with a fixed look of concentration on her face.

"Oh no, well; rarely, I did try dancing last year and that got a bit iffy, although I'd been to the ballerina camp so I was slightly wobbly from the Vodka.

"I'm wondering if you *are* one of the Russian Ballet members, you know - I visited the camp last night .. " The girl rubbed the back of her head as if soothing a headache, then continued .. "They asked me to help them out."

The Angel glanced up from her work, a twinkling eye directed at the girl...."A tasting?" she asked.

The girl shook her head, then thought better of it, grasping the back of her head again. "No, no.... washing, I needed to wash a few things, and traded my time.." She paused a moment... "might have been some tasting...."

Happy window Wednesday!

Reflection of a building in Kensington Toronto giving a very wobbly effect. #toronto2014 #Kensington

……See on the walk from Watendlath to Rosthwaite in Borrowdale. Now I always thought the shortest distance between two points is the most economical use of raw materials! Clearly no shortage of stones on the Fells in Cumbria back in the day - I can’t help thinking what was in the way to cause these dry stone wall builders to skirt around? or is there another reason? However it now is topped with a stock fence so Happy Fence Friday folks, Alan:-) HFF…..

#Tile

So this is my other option for the Macro Mondays "Tile" theme. It's a little more subdued and not as eye-catching as my MM participant (in the first comment), but I still like it. The "wobbly ground" look of the single tiles that are held together as one big square tile by the reinforcement fabric on the back reminded me of tile puzzles in computer games or the traps one might find in movies like Indiana Jones or The Mummy – step on the wrong tile first, and everything comes tumbling down or the hero(ine) breaks through the floor. Not my favourite type of puzzle in adventure games because I absolutely hate it when my character "dies" and it's game over, or I have to retry over and over again (or ask a walkthrough for help).

This, too, is a single shot. I had placed one of my colour filter glass jars underneath the tile to create the "wobbly ground" look and make single tiles protrude. The light setup was pretty much the same as for my MM photo, but here, I tried to create yellow/orange highlights only on the tiles' protruding edges.

Happy Wednesday Macro and happy hump day, everyone :)

Sir Harold Hillier Gardens

I tried moving the camera while in the woods the other day. I'm quite pleased with the result.

So why the erratic routing for this path?

I have a deep suspicion it’s to do with local pubs. My village has one and so does the next door one. This is the path between them (it also involves an almost 500-foot climb!). So if you are doing a pub-crawl involving both pubs in one night, what can you expect?

Or it could be the cattle avoiding the trees and the brambles of course, but that would be a tad boring.

It’s probably not the Romans because they thought in straight lines. I mention the Romans as a real option though - a significant Roman temple has been discovered in the woods just on the left (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uley). I think they preferred the local wine anyway, rather than the village-brewed beer.

This is for the Smile on Saturday groups Autumn Joy theme this week, taken on a walk a few days ago. No, I was remarkably sober at the time...

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Smile on Saturday! Happy Autumn Joy!!
