Burford
Lawrence and I proceeded from the Priory to the church in Burford. It is a building full of interest and character, with so many features from all the ages of English architecture there simply is not the space to mention them all here. I was pleased to get close to the Tanfield monument and was able to get behind the iron railing with permission, the work is extraordinary and along with the monuments at Wroxton, Ewelme and Rotherfield Greys must number as one of the best in the county, very little damage.
The Tanfield Monument
The Tanfield’s were unpopular in the town of Burford and, on Tanfield's death; the church refused his widow permission for a monument. They had also been refused at Westminster Abbey. Lady Tanfield persisted in her petition that her husband should have a monument, and had the monument erected without due permission .They erected six Corinthian columns, arches,obelisks and the Tanfield coat of arms aboveeffigies of the couple lying in prayer. For goodmeasure, Lady Tanfield added her own verse.So shall I be / With him I loved / And he withme / And both us blessed. / Love made me poet / And this I writt. / My harte did doe it / And not my witt.'

Lyrics are hand-written and credited to 'With Me' - Sum 41 although the order has been intentionally changed to the way they appear in the actual song.
This photo was/(still is) dedicated to two boys who have surely changed my life for the better. Both of which will always have my heart.
