My wisdom tooth was extracted and is lying on the dentist equipment (the red thing in left upper on the photo). Unfortunately some parts of the tooth were still in the wound, as a X-ray exposure showed. The dentist had to fish out the parts of the wound. What a fun. Photo taken with mobile phone cam.

Finally! The evil guys have been defeated. Our little fool has just rescued Lady Wisdomtooth and the knight has even found a treasure!

Well, the story might be over now. But hold on tight for the upcoming "outtakes" ;-)

I woke up two Sundays ago in agony because my one wisdom tooth was pushing up against the nerve in my gums. Instead of having them immediately extracted, I suffered the pain. After all, I had a press screening of The Dark Knight on Tuesday (yes, my priorities are all fucked up).

I wound up getting them pulled that Thursday. I told the surgeon that, if I was going to do this, I wanted him to do everything possible to get them out in one piece.

For you, dear audience. I suffer for you.

I told you my priorities are all fucked up.

The theme for Macro Mondays is Wisdom, a topic that had me completely stumped until I remembered I hadn't thrown out the wisdom tooth that I'd had pulled about a year ago.....

On his chase after the Medusa, our fool meets two knights.

They explain why Medusa wasn't in the cave. A mighty warlock, called Zorkhor, cast a spell on Medusa and took her with him. He also kidnapped the beautiful Lady Wisdomtooth and keeps her prisoner in his castle.

The knights have been send to rescue Lady Wisdomtooth and kill the Medusa.

Without hesitation our fool joins the two knights - and the three forge out a plan..

One shot, turned the background into b/w - the camera-version was too bright, yellow and friendly ;)

While the last knight took care of the dark knight, our little fool tried to reach Medusa - his fabulous spear should finally accomplish his purpose.

That's it. Our fool was quite happy and ran up the stairs to get Lady Wisdomtooth out of the prison..

Apologies for those of you of a nervous disposition but that tooth is going at 9am tomorrow - and not before time.

My wisdom tooth for Macro Mondays ~ The topic is Teeth..

My recently extracted wisdom tooth looks like it's running.

After my dental surgery on Friday to have my wisdom teeth out, this is how my face felt. The surgery didn't go as planned, and after two hours of torture, I was only able to have one tooth removed.

My dentist gave me a daily regiment of loopy drugs to consume which make me feel a little weird and hungry, but overall very creative!

Going to toss up a few of these simple concept photos over the next few days, and while I'm not quite sure what to do for my 52 weeks project this week, I've got some ideas in the works for later.

I pulled out my wisdom tooth 2 weeks and 3days ago. 🙊

My teeth in 1994, post fillings but before the $10,000 in pulling, bridges, extractions, expansions and the lovely braces themselves.

I was bummed when my dentist wouldn't give me my first wisdom tooth after extraction, so when I went in for another one, I made sure I asked him to save it for me. I knew he'll have to drill into the tooth and it will come out in pieces. I thought to myself, I'll just piece them back together like a puzzle. What I didn't know was, that the drill bit isn't exactly small and a good portion of the tooth will be missing after the extraction. At the end, this tooth was in four pieces and a quarter of it (the back side that you don't see here) was gone! I am glad that I still have some wisdom, even though I don't have it inside me now, lol.

This dental x-ray of a badly algined (mispositioned) wisdom tooth is badly carious and clinically it was found to be nerve-exposed. The empty space in front of this molar denotes the area from where a badly mutilated with caries second molar tooth was extracted a few months ago.

It reminds us that at times third molars have a notorious value!

This is one problem that can result if you leave an impacted wisdom tooth in place. Since the second molar is not restorable, you end up losing two teeth instead of one.

First highresolution shot with my new OM-D E-M5ii. Without the toothbrush everyone thinks these are some strange kind of potatoes^^

I never knew growing wisdom teeth could be so painful.

An infection has entered the gum around the tooth, and it keeps recurring. The dentist says I shouldn't have any out, as it is coming through. I just hope that's sooner than later!

18th August 2007: Just to say, that a mixture of warm-to-hot water and applied salt does wonders for the affected area.

1st June 2008: Also should point out,he doctor took an x-ray on the mouth 6 months ago, found out the tooth became hollow inside due to bacteria entering a gum flap where food entered, which was impossible to clean.

The operation in February only took 5 minutes, because it was hollow the tooth fell apart when it was extracted (not that I recommend you leave it that late to remove). The waiting was the worst bit, initially felt a bit weird around the area where the tooth was. Should have had the op sooner, save myself from rinsing every day!

This has been growing into my jawbone for years. After it was removed earlier today, I was in the dentist's waiting room, when out of the blue, the nurse presented me with a plastic jar. It contained this fleshy specimen, plus the other wisdom tooth they removed at the same time. It looked like something off CSI.

"Um, thanks", I said, in a somewhat confused state as she walked away.

I had to take a picture before I chuck it out, since it's so revolting.

Hope no one has been sick… It certainly turned my stomach.

Of course, it does waste the full body makeup job I had professionally applied before the shoot.

Magnificent!

Take my word...

a picture of my swollen, tissue encased impacted Wisdom Tooth. This mofo hurts like HELL D:

during the ~45 minute extraction, the top of my wisdom tooth broke off, then the roots had to be drilled apart, the right root was extracted, and then while wrenching the left root out, the barb at the end broke off and had to be left behind because it was so close to the nerve (indicated at the bottom). i was awake the whole time, yet highly numbed.

I'm pretty cranky by now in the Alveolar osteitis photographic process. My poor little socket doesn't like to be exposed to the air so much, and drying it out feels pretty rotten.

I can't wait until I get this condition treated. Then as my friend Joe says, I can name my hole Toad (the Wet Sprocket).

This upper wisdom has proved to be a villain for this 35year old male who does not have the corresponding lower wisdom tooth. As a result of this, the uppper molar has drifted downwards causing a lot of problems for the itself and the once-healthy the molar lying infront of this ie second molar

Part 11 of Cleaning out my Childhood Bedroom: WISDOM TOOTH

I was 17 when I got my wisdom teeth pulled. My parents wouldn't let me be put under, so I was conscious and filled with laughing gas. It was truly the greatest.

Yes, I removed them myself. Years ago in Philadelphia General Hospital.

I have an odd fascination with teeth. When I got my wisdom teeth out, I was SO excited to take them home. I spent a long time cleaning them and everything, haha. By the way, I want to be a Dentist.

I am doing alright, recovering well. Hungry most of the time, because jello & soup only get you so far. I usually only have small amounts anyway, because my jaw is so sore. But I am learning small bites of very soft food seem to be working. Yesterday, I had about 6 chicken nuggets and a handful of fries from McD's. I was starving, I learned quickly that very small bites worked well. It only took me the greater part of 30-45m to eat them. Aside from more jello in the evening, and some Mr. G's frozen custard (lemon) in the evening I did alright. I was ready to enjoy my usual sunday morning breakfast this morning. I decided that I could do a waffle really slowly and with small bites (and extra syrup). It was good to eat semi-solid food again.
