there are some days I choose to ignore bad news that I see and hear and refuse to discuss the latest disasters of the day, I just want to chill, pretend that all is right with our precious planet ... but eventually it seeps into the nooks and crannies of my troubled mind and I feel helpless and overwhelmed, where does one start?

spotted these three silly fellows on Vancouver Island in Genoa Bay on this day last year.

Kindness is more important than wisdom, and the recognition of this is the beginning of wisdom.” – Theodore Isaac Rubin

“If we never experience the chill of a dark winter,

it is very unlikely that we will ever cherish the warmth of a bright summer’s day.

Nothing stimulates our appetite for the simple joys of life

more than the starvation caused by sadness or desperation.

In order to complete our amazing life journey successfully,

it is vital that we turn each and every dark tear into a pearl of wisdom,

and find the blessing in every curse.”

"Wisdom is not a product of schooling, but of the lifelong

attempt to acquire it." Albert Einstein

Ezra 7:25 “Now you, Ezra, in keeping with the wisdom of your God which you possess, appoint judges and court officials who can arbitrate cases on behalf of all the people who are in Trans-Euphrates who know the laws of your God. Those who do not know this law should be taught.”

Thank you very much for comments! I really appreciate it!!

“An owl is the wisest of all birds because the more it sees the less it talks.”

― Christie Watson,

According to the Manataka Indian traditions, Grandmother Owl is often thought to come to those who need to let go of some part of their lives that is no longer needed. As a guide, the owl teaches us to see and hear past shadows, beyond fear and darkness, through to the other side that promises light, happiness, and knowledge. As a spirit animal, the owl also guides us to see beyond the veil of deception and illusion; it helps see what’s kept hidden.

This was my only encounter with a great horned (edit correction) owl in my yard. I normally only see great greys or snowy owls. Its big yellow eyes had that all seeing and all knowing intense stare. Shortly after this was taken I parted ways with someone who wore a veil of deception...

OrangAid SOS Benefit

OrangAid, Lyceum Theatre, London 12th May 2008

Films4Conservation came along to help our friends at the Sumatran Orangutan Society by shooting the photos for the OrangAid comedy benefit night. We have worked alongside SOS for the past few years, working closely on the palm oil campaign, and producing targeted Indonesian language videos on subjects ranging from orangutan and human conflict mitigation to the disenfranchisement of tribal forest people at the hands of the palm oil industry. To find out more about our friends at SOS please visit: www.orangutans-sos.org/

So I spent the day running around with my grandpa today while Chucho slept in. He had a doctor's appointment to fix BOTH of the hearing aids he "accidentally" broke weeks ago. Then it was off to breakfast for a senior meal - he loves those discounts. Then he wanted to get parts for his weed eater, at 2 different stores. Then it was across town to get some tomato plants to replace a few that he doesn't feel are performing good enough, and then he needed to get a card for a wedding, so I got to read to him and most of the store half an isle of cards...and he settled for "one that just holds money - who cares what it says. THEY won't"... Then after I asked if we were finished and ready to head home, and he says yes, Chucho wakes up and calls, saying he's hungry and could I bring some Mcnuggets. I say sure and pick some up figuring its our last stop before home. While at the drive thru he remembers he wants some beer for tonight, so it was off to the liquor store for supplies. That was the one thing that wasn't an ordeal. He knew right where the specials were. Then he had to go to the ATM to get the money for the card. I helped him push the buttons while he loud whispered to me the code on that "damn ATM that nobody can see" He was right. Even I had a hard time reading that faded display. Then it was back to Loma...and halfway there he panics saying that he left his glasses on the ATM because he could read better without them, but he needs them for tv... He pats down his body and says we have to go back... We go all the way back, he gets out of the car and stands up to go to the ATM and feels them in his pocket.... So we get back home and have a beer for our half hour day that turned into the whole day and I give Chucho his now cold nuggets... So Grandpa wants to see the pics we took at the Monument. He sees this pic and says, "If you want to live as long as me, you don't do pictures like this" and shut the laptop.

And I do :)

We happened upon this gorgeous creation of art one day when we were wandering about New Orleans! Each mosaic design on several walls is unique and dazzling- stained glass and mirrored pieces! I don't know who the artist is, but I think it is their studio.

If your conscience is too easily wounded, don't violate it. To violate even a weak conscience is to train yourself to override conviction, and that will lead to overriding true conviction about real sin. Moreover, violating the conscience is a sin in itself (Romans 14:23), bringing legitimate guilt for a real offense against God. So, respond to your conscience, even if it’s weak, and then continue to inform your conscience with God’s Word so it can begin to function with reliable data. - John MacArthur

Wisdom, Happiness, and Courage are not waiting somewhere out beyond sight at the end of a straight line; they're part of a continuous cycle that begins right here. They're not only the ending, but the beginning as well.

Aboutme

China, Harbin, Song Hua Jiang Gonglu Bridge, or Songhua River Highway Bridge & National Street crossing the Songhua River from Harbin to the Sun Island & ahead. The tower is one of the three identical towers on both sides & centre with spiral staircases for pedestrians connected to the top of the slight over 2 km long bridge.

This bridge is leading directly to the "Ice & Snow Festival" & further to the Siberian Tiger research. centre

Not only for its special position, but also as the centre of Heilongjiang's political, economic, educational & cultural life, Harbin is described as the pearl beneath the swan's neck. Lying on the east of the Songnen Plain, what is more, Harbin plays a vital role in communications between South & North Asia as well the regions of Europe & the Pacific Ocean.

Harbin was the birthplace of Jin, 1115-1234 & Qing, 1644-1911, Dynasties, the latter of which had a very considerable influence on modern Chinese history.

At the end of the 19th century, Russia built the terminus of the Middle East Railway here. Later, more than 160,000 foreigners from 33 countries migrated to Harbin, promoting the development of a capitalist economy in the city. The economy & culture of Harbin achieved unprecedented prosperity at that time & the city gradually grew into a famous international commercial port. Assimilating external culture, Harbin created its unique & exotic cityscape. The majestic St. Sofia Orthodox Church & Zhongyang Dajie each built in a European style have the effect of bringing you into an 'eastern Moscow'. Even though you are sure to be attracted by various exotic buildings, the Dragon Tower which embodies the wisdom of the Chinese people is a must on your journey.

Besides these rich cultural heritages, Harbin is favoured with beautiful natural scenery. Based on meandering Song Hua River & subject to severe low temperatures in winter, down to -30°C, when I took this Pictures the Temperature varied between -20°C & -26°C but dry air, Harbin boasts a unique ice & snow culture. So, Harbin is also called the "Ice City".

The impressive "Ice & Snow Festival" is the greatest & unusual one in the world, therefor Harbin is also called the "Ice City".

As well the large Siberian Tiger & white tigers research centre, with about 500 tigers & a few other species, does an important work to prevent this species from extinction. The Research centre can be visited, tours in small a bus are available, passing through wide natural, separated, sections, however the focus point is to save the tigers.
