I have met semi-literate village intellectuals with a lot of wisdom and highly educated scholars not in control of their motivations. The relationship between wisdom and knowledge is a tricky one. Let us try this formulation: wisdom without knowledge is an impossibility, knowledge without wisdom is vacuous. The point here really is the definition of knowledge or, more precisely, the privileging of a certain type of knowledge (let us call it, for lack of a better term, the academic variety) over other types. Such other types may be emotional knowledge, or social and cultural abilities. The whole sector of artistic expression should be mentioned as well. Just to make the point again: wisdom is based on knowledge, it is not a "return to childhood". So, little cherub, go out into this world and make yourself knowledgeable, you might get wisdom, too. Couldn't resist going back to this old tree. The water level is constantly changing in the lakes around here so opportunities come and go with the weather. I haven't caught the light just right yet. our backyard maple is wise: new leaves are red, not green, so not to be burned by the sun; as they gain mass and strength, they morph into their green color. i’m fascinated by these early leaves. a single leaf seems to hold lifetimes of wisdom within itself.
By three methods we may learn wisdom:

It was not only in Nazareth that the “today” of the Gospel was not accepted. Later also, in the course of the church’s history, it has again and again been denied or rendered toothless. The reason was the same as in Nazareth: apparently it goes against the human grain for God to become concrete in our lives. Then people’s desires and favorite notions are in danger, and so are their ideas about time. It can’t be today, because that would mean that our lives have to change today already. Therefore God’s salvation is better delayed into the future. There it can lie, hygienically and snugly packed, at rest, inconsequential.
