A cargo ship viewed from my place that's been hanging around for a few days now.
It's called "Wisdom Line", written in large text on the side - also the name of an excellent David Bridie album.
The wide world is all about you: you can fence yourselves in, but you cannot forever fence it out. - J.R.R. Tolkien
According to the old says the Orchird Island Canoe building technique involved no modern tools or equipment. The canoe itself would never drowned and move forward with less friction. All these ancient survivial wisdom were handled hundreds years ago from outsider without any written scripts.
根據古老的說法蘭嶼的拼板舟是在無任何現代化工具和設備下完成。 舟的設計永遠都不會沈船同時前進時阻力低。這些充滿生存智慧的造船技術是在沒有文字記載下由外島人傳授。

Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue. ~ Buddha.

"If you wish to experience peace, provide peace for another. If you wish to know that you are safe, cause another to know that they are safe. If you wish to better understand seemingly incomprehensible things, help another to better understand. If you wish to heal your own sadness or anger, seek to heal the sadness or anger of another."
Dalai Lama
Wisdom is like the rain. Its source is limitless, but it comes down according to the season.

I have met semi-literate village intellectuals with a lot of wisdom and highly educated scholars not in control of their motivations. The relationship between wisdom and knowledge is a tricky one. Let us try this formulation: wisdom without knowledge is an impossibility, knowledge without wisdom is vacuous. The point here really is the definition of knowledge or, more precisely, the privileging of a certain type of knowledge (let us call it, for lack of a better term, the academic variety) over other types. Such other types may be emotional knowledge, or social and cultural abilities. The whole sector of artistic expression should be mentioned as well. Just to make the point again: wisdom is based on knowledge, it is not a "return to childhood". So, little cherub, go out into this world and make yourself knowledgeable, you might get wisdom, too. Couldn't resist going back to this old tree. The water level is constantly changing in the lakes around here so opportunities come and go with the weather. I haven't caught the light just right yet. I will keep trying, you never know I might just get lucky. Thanks for looking!!! Well maybe I did catch the light just right. Thank you all for the wonderful comments!!!!

our backyard maple is wise: new leaves are red, not green, so not to be burned by the sun; as they gain mass and strength, they morph into their green color. i’m fascinated by these early leaves. a single leaf seems to hold lifetimes of wisdom within itself.
Amazing trees at Dyrehaven North from Copenhagen. Trees cannot move so they have to learn how to survive (and thrive) where they are planted. Maybe therefore trees represent wisdom...

One of my favorite images from my trip last month to the swamps in Texas. These cypress trees have been around for a long time and have seen a lot.
