the ever useful "place" command....cuz you never know when you may need to have your dog balance on a six-inch stump in the middle of the woods.

won't be doing those weave poles for a while.

...always on the lookout.

probably not the best photo, but i like how only her face is in focus.

she's forever hunting

(if you view the photo large you can see the water coming off her foot. kinda cool.)

first vacation in years....and the north carolina humidity is too much for matea....and i'm working anyway. what else for her to do besides claim the sectional and lounge in the a/c?

yes, even tough-girl matea tries to be cute for the camera once in a while.

new terrain today...took matea out on my own...just her and me.

better large

no where NEAR as good as the great schmoo but we were thinking of you old boy.

it's a dog's life for sure.

this is a picture of a squirrel from someone else's flickr.com page. matea liked it!

matea....always inquisitive....hanging on every word because "walk" just might be the next one to slip out!

we were packed....and so was matea.

this is what i call matea's melty face...she gets all gooey and smiley looking.

she's a good girl

the sectional worked fine

but STILL, i can put those poles in the ground - maybe once or twice a year - and bam! she runs through them...never forgets.

not sure what this was about....photo has not been manipulated....i imagine she was turning her head, trying to figure out what i was saying, when i took the shot.

when matea first saw this log on the beach, from a distance, she couldn't figure it out....was extremely leery...approached with caution...and once she figured it out, she seemed victorious.

always on the lookout for birds
