The wonderful colors of autumn! This piece combines the yummy warmth of copper with some breath taking lampwork beads. The little cubes of cinnamon and spice are created by Crazy Cat Lampwork and the blue/burgundy ruffles were made by Norma Brink. The lampwork is connected by various copper bead designs with many swirls and whirls to adore. The piece has been oxidized and hand polished to bring out the light and dark areas for contrast.
Commission for a friend's sister's birthday gift. Huge snowflake obsidian cab wrapped with Sterling silver wire and strung on a beaded necklace of freshwater pearls, snowflake obsidian, "ice" quartz and black onyx. Matching earrings have the same beads as the necklace and are strung on Sterling silver wire.
This design is based on a tutorial by Eni Oken. To make it a little more my own, I changed the bail from the series of jump rings that were shown in the tutorial to a woven beaded bail, and I used a pointed amethyst briolette and freshwater pearls--two of my favorite combos. I also added some coiling detail as a loose frame around the pearls at the top of the background heart. The wire is 12K gold-filled. I think I'm keeping this one for myself! Not only do I love it, but I know where all the flaws are--flaws I can hopefull avoid in the next one I make. :)
I am a little bit delayed, but theses earings are my answer to the weekly challenge - ruby treasure.
As I had no ruby I've used hematite with jasper from Marocco cabochons, in which you may see ruby-red and red flames.

*The rope is nearly 110" long and closes with a small round filigree sterling box clasp that fades seamlessly into the pattern. Wrap around head and hair five times, crisscrossing as desired and pin in place, hiding clasp if necessary. Loop several times long or short to transition to a necklace after the big day.
This piece will certainly catch the light and the eyes of any audience. It does not easily tangle but will keep best if hung.
