For the first time this year, it rained in Manila.

For the first time in my life, I'm sure.

Window Rock is the name of the Capital of the Navajo (Diné) Nation. The name for the town comes from this natural feature. We are heading up to the Four Corners area next week so I am dusting off some older photos getting psyched for the trip.

We sit in a church for the Weight Watchers meeting, and there's always some great light coming through the windows. So I took this picture, and the woman three seats away said, "Overexposed." And I sort of sneered at her. And then she said, "Whenever I have shots like that, I always overexpose and then under process." I told her all my settings were manual and that my camera was a digital and that I did pretty well.

During the meeting she offered some advice to another WW member, and I recognized that voice. I got up and sat next to her and looked her in the eye. She said, "I know you!" and then we hugged. Turns out she was a friend of a friend, and we once spent a week in Martha's Vineyard together many years ago. She took a photograph of me on the beach there, reading a book, with cows marching by. She always took her cows and photographed them.

It's one of my favorite pictures. I loved seeing her again.

The windows in our old chicken coop were seriously in need of some cleaning! Don't you agree? Blogged @ rosinahuber.blogspot.com/2011/03/chicken-coop-remodel.html

The central apse chapel behind the High Altar at Reims contains three splendid windows by Marc Chagall dating from 1974.

Reims Cathedral, coronation church of the French kings and one of the finest gothic structures ever built. It's vast scale, masterful design and rich sculptural adornment are virtually without equal.

The west facade is one of the most celebrated achievements of medieval architecture. Beautiful sculptures from the 13th & 14th centuries adorn the three main portals and include such famous figures as the 'Smiling Angel of Reims' and the strikingly classical-inspired Visitation.

Sadly the cathedral was heavily mauled by German artillery in World War I, starting fires which destroyed the outer roof and tragically ignited wooden scaffolding around the northern half of the facade, damaging the priceless sculptures (which would have otherwise been safe from fire damage). Restoration took many years, some continues to this day.

I am totally ripping off this window display art

This image shows part of a run of eight dormer windows that form an upper dormitory of Sherborne School in Dorset. The school was re-founded in 1550 as King Edward's public school, using some of the old abbey buildings, though it is now known simply as Sherborne School. The school remains one of the top independent schools in Britain, boasting numerous successful alumni, including Alan Turing, Jeremy Irons, Chris Martin and John le Carré.

This was a great day. End of story, hands down, no question about it.

St Nicholas's church, Sevenoaks, Kent. 1881 East window by C E Kempe. The glass is now much faded but a detailed report of the window ( in the flowery language of the time) was given in the 'Sevenoaks Chronicle' of 15th April 1881. It said, ' A most beautiful stained glass window has been placed at the east end of the chancel in the Parish Church. Certainly the work is one of the finest specimens of this delicate art to be found and will form one of the chief attractions of the edifice to the lovers of the beautiful in art.

The harmony of colour and superb blending of the subjects, which are taken from the Passion of our Lord, as follows, are truly remarkable :- The Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, Gethsemane, St Peter's denial, Jesus Christ before Pilate, the Crucifixion, the Deposition, the Burial are all highly suggestive in their character and the whole was designed and executed by C E Kempe Esq. It cannot but be remarked that under the highly esteemed Rector, our noble Parish Church is becoming celebrated for its ecclesiastical adornment'.

Portugal window number 2. So many windows, so little time.

One of a pair of two-light windows lighting a small chapel at the south-west corner of the church.

St Peter's church in Aachen was badly damaged by wartime bombing and rebuilt with a modern interior in the 1950s. It contains of remarkable set of abstract windows by Wilhelm Buschulte that create the dominant touch of colour on an otherwise fairly minimalist interior.

In 2017, Laws Stained Glass Studios installed (9) opalescent glass windows at The ConneXion Church in Savannah, GA. The windows (size 40" wide x 82" high) did not have artwork or a memorial plate, but a decorative leaf design in the center.

Laws began the installation by removing the existing Krinkle glass (a thin fiber glass) and the existing aluminum frame. New white aluminum frames were installed into the masonry opening. On the interior of the frame, the leaded glass window was set. On the exterior, 1/4" Lucite acrylic was placed as the protective covering.
