The glass in the windows of the old café on Llandudno pier was that bubbly old rippled sort. The morning winter sun doesn't shine on the beautiful façade of the seafront hotels, but I loved the pastel shades I saw through the two panes of looking glass.
We had a special outing for afternoon tea at Ellenborough Park near Cheltenham.
The sun shone through this lovely leaded-light window in the tea lounge.

This piece was inspired by an architectural detail found repeatedly throughout the temples of Angkor Wat, in Cambodia. These stone columns in the windows fascinated me each time I saw them. I used one of my own detail shots as a reference for the mosaic.- see 1st comment.
This piece was started during a zoom Make-Along session sponsored by BAMM (British Association of Modern Mosaic), lead by Rachel Davies, with a prompt (travel) from Bonnie Fitzgerald. I ended up using several materials that have been in my studio for many moons. I can't say definitively (It's been 20+ yrs) but the beads at the bottom, I believe, were purchased from a band of children at one of the temples.

The magic lighthouse-living quarters at Högby fyr, at the east coast of Öland, Sweden. There is sometimes art exhibitions in the summer where you can visit the attic.
A Prairie School art glass window with an elaborate thistle design by architect George W. Maher fetched a record $120,000 at Treadway-Toomey Galleries' 20th Century Art & Design Auction on May 7. Executed by stained glass master Louis J. Millet circa 1901, the triptych window was reclaimed from the James A. Patten house in Evanston, Ill. prior to its demolition in 1938. It had a presale estimate of $15,000 to $20,000.
Today I was a clean machine! I cleaned and organized the house and I did everything in such a great mood! I believe that the responsible for this extra energy/good mood are the windows. I feel so good to feel the breeze coming inside, listen to the trees.
I'm enjoying while I can until the cold knock on the door...
I just relaxed in the afternoon and that was the moment I took this shot...
If only the weather was like that the whole year...sigh.
I suppose that a outdoor window washing qualifies as a significant
event to a cat. We use a simple mixture for washing our windows. It
certainly saves on cost of glass cleaner and perhaps even does a
better job.
- 1 part ammonia
- 1 part vinegar
- several parts water
