Beautiful sunset last night over Long Pond. Temperatures warmed up to the low 40’s today, after a week of cold wet weather. The pond is frozen over now, created a nice sheen against the sky.

This is my latest painting. I've been working on this for a while.
It's inspired by a photo I took this last Sept in Alaska of this bear as he settled down on the riverbank after a day of intense fishing. His belly was full, he was content and he was winding down, getting ready for hibernation, his long winter sleep. The sun was low creating a nice golden cast and I was lulled into sleepiness myself, LOL!

Macizo de Anaga
... is a mountain range in the northeastern part of the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands.
The highest point is 1,024 m (Cruz de Taborno). It stretches from the Punta de Anaga in the northeast to Cruz del Carmen in the southwest.
Anaga features the mountain peaks of Bichuelo, Anambro, Chinobre, Pico Limante, Cruz de Taborno and Cruz del Carmen.
The mountains were formed by a volcanic eruption about 7 to 9 million years ago making it the oldest part of the island. Since 1987 it has been protected as a "natural park", reclassified as "rural park" in 1994.
Since 2015 it is also Biosphere Reserve and is the place that has the largest number of endemic species in Europe.

Jonathan and I went here yesterday in the hope of some snow left and there was...unfortunately we got delayed in heavy traffic and it was almost dark but the dogs had fun.
This is another case for old photos'. This exact shot is no longer possible because over the last 14 years the trees and hedges have grown and the winding house to the old Bestwood Pit can't be seen :(
