Windpower follows the coal and the colliers

I was very impressed by the extensive Wind Turbines in the state of Iowa. I know there are plenty of states producing wind power, but in my travels, these turbines are the most I've seen in one place. Good for Iowa.

It was very difficult to get good shots of these turbines while driving. I hope to make another trip for a close-up view.

I love offsetting my tea with wind power. ;) Traditional Medicinals, of course!

Powering some (a tiny bit) of these babies... There are a gazillion of them, and they still don't replace one dam.

These are pictures taken at the "Grand Ridge Windfarm" in LaSalle county Illinois. When complete there will be more than 100 windmills situated in the area. These particular wind generators are located very near the LaSalle Nuclear Power Station. An interesting combination of electrical power generating.

this turbine is much higher than the ones that are near the shore line. one can be seen in the back ground

Use the slipstream from passing trucks to spin the turbines to power the lights. It's an Archinet proposal from Joe.
