Of course he flew right out into the sunlight when my ISO was set for deep shade.

Wilson Arch is south of Moab on US highway 191, or more specifically, one half mile south of the intersection of 191 and 46, the La Sal Loop Road. This is, indeed, one of those places that "You Can't Miss It!" -- it is conspicuous to all driving south on 191.

For scale, I left two people in the photo. You might need to

zoom in to find them and to appreciate the size of Wilson Arch.

Wilson Arch has a span of 91 feet and a height of 46 feet. It is named after Joe Wilson, a local pioneer that had a cabin in nearby Dry Valley.

------------------------ JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------

7 Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so they might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH! Because JESUS LOVES YOU! ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

A very docile Wilson's Snipe that allowed for close up shots this Spring. Later on he laid down on this stump and started sleeping here. I got so many frames from this individual. Click to supersize! :)

While the left was taking bath, the right one suddenly appeared. And they started quarreling. I wonder what he would say... Respect my privacy?!? :)) Both are males, by the way.

last spring was phenomenal for Wilson's, hoping this year is too.

After a long day at work I was looking forward to sitting down and resting some while processing some of the weekend sunset captures ... especially on this rainy day in Maryland when I noticed some spotty sunlight around 7:30 this evening. I debated for several minutes if I wanted to head somewhere ... and was about to say no ... when Ms. Krach came home from dinner with a friend and told me to head down and see my dad ... and see what happens.

Glad I listened to her and headed down. As the sunlight was coming through the clouds I could not get through the traffic quick enough (people seem to drive always really SLOW in front of me when near sunset ;))

In any case I made it down to Middle River about 15 minutes before sunset ... and was snapping off some under the pier captures as the tide was really LOW and there was a pretty nice beach there, was when I noticed the incredible rainbow there. Snapped some from the beach, and will process them hopefully tomorrow after work ... but here is the view I took from out on the pier next to my Dad's pier that gives a nice view of the end of Wilson Point. Just happened to be Under the Rainbow perfectly there. Ms. Krach can be right 'every once in a while' ... heck, who am I kidding, she is ALWAYS RIGHT :))

This was captured with the 6 Stop ND to slow the shutter down for around 8 seconds, smoothing out the reflection just a little ... if you look close the sprinkling of rain that was happening while shooting this (and hence the rainbow) can be seen hitting the water making all the small rippled circles there in the extending exposure. Pretty cool effect.
