A ride down the 1/4 mile in this supercharged A/Gas (class in drag racing) supercharged hemi engine powered '41 Willy's would probably be just as exciting as a ride in the roller coaster behind it. Photographed at the GoodGuys Hot Rod & Custom Car Association's 29th annual show in Puyallup WA.
Spotted this Willys Jeep Station Wagon in a field near Tromsø, Northern-Norway. A great find indeed!
Yesterday one of Belgium's best-known entrepreneurs died: Willy Naessens. A successful businessman, who was very popular with his workforce.
He was a horse lover and at the Flemish horse races "Waregem Koerse" he rode the winners of the 'Willy Naessens Hat Trophy' around the course in a fourspan.
I took this photo at the races of 2022, when Willy was 83 years old. He is the man in the pink jacket, the ladies are all wearing (or holding) special hats.
Happy Truck Thursday!
Beautifully restored, 1963 Willys Jeep. A daily driver.
This Jeep was called the Willys because the government selected a vehicle based on the fashion of the Bantam Car Company. Bantam lacked the production facilities to mass-produce, and the military wanted suppliers, so Willys got a contract to build this model of Jeep in the late 1940s.
Brooks Stevens, the famous Willys-Overland designer, had intended the Jeepster to be a low-priced American sports car. Eventually it priced out at around $1,900, which was at the time fabulously expensive.*

So I rebuilt my Willys' MB, with a couple changes. Added better seats, changed the MG, etc.
Let me know what you think! Pictures with the canopy coming in the next few days.
