I am back from my lovely week away in Northern Victoria.
This was taken on my first evening away. A quick dash out to try to find somewhere to photograph sunset when I noticed the sky change colour. Saw this lovely farm gate, open, so figured it was an invitation to photograph the fast disappearing sunset!

While strolling through Cortona, Italy several years ago, we came upon this beautifully set and inviting table. I would love to have had a glass of wine there.
It will be a while before it is Easter, but Easterbear is already in the Netherlands. He visits a good friend: Ballet dancer Piggolina Ballerina.
PIGGOLINA BALLERINA:

I'm just really busy you know. Soon I will have a ballet performance with the famous Scoutlova. I practise 6 hours every day.

Try as it might, the sun had a real effort on its hands attempting to show itself through the fluffy clouds. I just luv these type of skies, as they create such depth.
A play around with the settings, gave me the time I needed to get some foreground water movement. The small lighthouse at Roker"s curved pier is backlit by the sunrise colours.
Amazed I managed to get anything as every time I set up, down came the rain.

I make a mixture of mealworms, peanutbutter and chopped raisins for the bluebirds. Here he is about to get some.
You know I am not a fan of over-saturation so I will tell you that this bright blue is right out of the camera. I guess you could say he is in his breeding colors.

The sun will guide you, especially if it is painted on the tree. You may not notice at first as I didn't notice. But it is there, just give it a second look. Sometimes it is all about the second look, and the light doesn't always come from the sun on the sky.

Sollte die Entfernung auf 5 Meter schrumpfen, wird aus Sicherheitsgründen der Zugang zum Turm gesperrt. Ein Wintersturm kann schon diese Situation herbeiführen. Die Naturbehörde als Eigner will dem Sturz ins Meer zuvorkommen und das Gebäude abbauen.[6] Politiker der Gemeinde Hjørring beschlossen im Herbst 2018, den Turm 60–80 Meter in das Landesinnere zu versetzen. Die Dänische Regierung stellt dafür 5 Millionen Kronen zur Verfügung. Es fehlt noch eine Firma, die für diese Summe den Auftrag annimmt.
The Danish nature authority expects in November 2017 due to the now only 8 feet amount of the tower to the sea with the impending fall of the building in the North Sea. Should the distance shrink to 5 meters, access to the tower will be blocked for security reasons. A winter storm can bring about this situation. The nature authority as owner wants to forestall the fall into the sea and dismantle the building. Politicians of the municipality Hjørring decided in autumn 2018 to move the tower 60-80 meters into the interior of the country. The Danish government is providing 5 million kroner. There is still missing a company that accepts the order for this sum.

This parent, with adolescents in the nest, was at wits end and needed a dead tree limb on which to pace. "When will they ever learn?" Sound familiar LOL?

Si Estrabón observase el paisaje español, no se lo podría creer. Su ardilla no saltaría sobre dos árboles seguidos. A esto le añadimos los nuevos peligros para nuestros legendarios paisajes: las macrourbanizaciones y los campos de golf. A pesar de la aparente soledad y las nubes tan negras que cubren el cielo, esta foto es un homenaje a todos aquellos majestuoso árboles que se resisten a morir y a las personas que se resisten a que mueran.

I am plagued with weak lungs owing to many years of constant childhood illnesses, and as a result, if I am unlucky enough to catch your cold, I usually end up with pneumonia or a nasty chest infection at best. I was recovering from one such unpleasant chest infection after a period of prolonged ill health. A very dear friend who loves photography as much as I do, decided that I needed to be taken out of myself, go somewhere and reconnect with what I found joyful in life, so she took me to the top of Mount Macedon in the Macedon Ranges in central Victoria for a photography afternoon. It was a bitterly cold day, made even more so by the wind and the altitude, but we were very well rugged up against the bitter wind. It rained on and off. However, the trip was a wonderful one: just what I needed to help lift my flagging spirits, and the day afforded us a beautiful and striking sunset over the valley far below. Using the sunset as an analogy, my friend told me that my poor health would pass, just like a winter rainstorm, and that the sun would reappear. She was right, my health troubles did dissipate like a shower of rain, and a few weeks later, the sun shone in my life again. Now I am healthy and well, and I have happy, sunny days once more.
The theme for "Smile on Saturday" for the 1st of February is "sky". Now I am not a sky watcher, like my friend who took me out to Mount Macedon that day is – always looking for that perfect elusive sunset – however I am captivated by the sky and clouds on occasion when they present something beautiful, dramatic or both! I do hope you like my choice of image from the top of Mount Macedon for the theme this week, and that like me, it makes you smile too!
