"We do not remember days, we remember moments"

Nube monstruosa de los incendios forestales.

He creido ver una nube monstruosa que cambia de forma y lugar a voluntad.

I thought I saw

a monstrous cloud that shapeshifter of form and place at will.

wildfire

Michael Martin Murphey

She comes down from Yellow Mountain

On a dark, flat land she rides

On a pony she named Wildfire

With a whirlwind by her side

On a cold Nebraska night

Oh, they say she died one winter

When there came a killing frost

And the pony she named Wildfire

Busted down its stall

In a blizzard, he was lost

She ran calling Wildfire

She ran calling Wildfire

She ran calling Wildfire

By the dark of the moon, I planted

But there came an early snow

Been a hoot-owl howling outside my window now

'Bout six nights in a row

She's coming for me, I know

And on Wildfire we're both gonna go

We'll be ridin' Wildfire

We'll be ridin' Wildfire

We'll be ridin' Wildfire

On Wildfire we're gonna ride

We're gonna leave sodbustin' behind

Get these hard times right on out of our minds

In the era of electronic money, probably one day, not too far away, coins will lose their usefulness. This thing, a little saddens me.

Robertson Draw Fire

from Beartooth Pass, Montana

We were concerned that this growing fire would force us to turn around to go back to Yellowstone instead of completing the loop back up the Chief Joseph Highway. But the roads skirted the fire -- see the next image.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for all of your support -- I greatly appreciate it.

"Sometimes we break so beautiful

And you know you’re not the only one

I breathe you in so sweet and powerful

Like a wildfire burning up inside my lungs

I’m burning up" ♪

Pine tree in New Mexico that survived a wildfire

An eerie golden sunset glow caused by the wildfires back in the month of September. I had hoped to capture the red sun that I saw in the sky over Astoria, but as the sun set over the ocean it turned golden. A spooky strange atmosphere at the oceans edge that day!

Rehoboth Beach, DE

Again, we are experiencing eerie sunsets and rises due to the smoke from the wildfires in the west. It's hard to believe the smoke can travel this far and hang around for days on end.

You think you know all about it then it seems you are wrong,

She hit it out of the park before it'd even begun,

I needed sunshine in the darkness burning out,

Well now I know that I'm the fuel and she's the spark.

This feelings arranged deep down inside,

Try describing a love you can't design,

More and more, every inch of me is holding on,

This is it all the flames are burning strong.

We are bound to each other's hearts,

Cold, torn and pulled apart

This love, is like wildfire,

And to my word now I'll be true,

I can't stop this breaking loose

This love, is like wildfire,

Like wildfire.

A horizon haze from the west coast wildfires made for an interesting look at sunset in the Shiawassee NWR, Saginaw County, Michigan.

With so many wildfires smoke has reached Southern Ontario today. The Sun was an orange colour for most of the day. You did not need a Sun filter today to photograph the Sun because the smoke created that filter for you. The sunspot # 2842 is visible on the right sight close to the edge. Another sunspot # 2845 is slightly visible on the lower third of the Sun, middle. My prayers go to those who actually have to go through the wildfires. People especially, but also wildlife and flora. This shot is pretty much SOOC, with only little bit of the noise correction.

Woke up to our first real smokey day this morning...darn! It's been so nice to have had a smoke-free summer so far. After I took this picture the smoke descended to the lake but started to clear later in the day so it wasn't so bad.

Wildfires in Athens.

Death toll is a little more than 88 people!

187 injured.

35.000 acres turned to ashes.

More than 2300 homes burnt...

Its back, the smoke haze from the west coast wildfires in Michigan. Here is sunset last evening over Lake Michigan. It was another eerie one.

Not much to do with these next few shots, the color is outrageous this morning, def a four-alarm sunrise. It isn't supposed to last too much longer before the clouds move in for a couple hours.

An ornament is the only thing that remains in the house fire

The sun setting with deep reds through smoke from nearby wildfires.

The orange light filtering from the window is due to the dark smoky skies outside as a result of nearby wildfires. The air quality was too dangerous to be outside for extended time periods.

Tallest horse on the property! If I can't find him I just look for the glowing white diamond shaped star on his forehead, It always shows up.

"You are never too old to set a new goal or dream a new dream"

While I hate wildfires, the smoke does make for a dramatic sunrise.

Quick question for any Photoshop/Lightroom users out there. If you downloaded the October Adobe update, is your computer working normally or being funky. My computer is crashing and really having problems with saving and anything that uses the graphics card...

Rondout Reservoir, NY. Smoke from the West Coast Wildfires before sunset.

This is another picture from Beverly Beach, with colors and hues influenced by wildfires.

We're not very used to wildfires here in West Cornwall, the temperature rarely gets hot enough. If fires get out of hand here it's usually when farmers are deliberately burning off gorse bushes and the wind has fanned the flames a little too much. On Monday night a fire started around Zennor headland, a couple of miles over the cliffs to where we live and although it has been contained it is still burning today (Friday). The Zennor fire is realtively small and only covers around 100m square, but I can imagine the trepidation and terror of those people who live in areas regularly visited by huge wildfires. I also think about the wildlife whose habitats have been lost for the next couple of years.

There is a huge wildfire about 100 miles north; the smoke covers the sun.

While camping last weekend and enjoying having a particularly lazy Saturday evening.....I couldn't be bothered leaving our little area of comfort.....a glorious sunset decided to happen so a little ICM play instead!

As romantic as this picture may seem at first glance, it is an illusion.

This unique blue atmosphere is a mixture of ordinary morning fog and the smoke that prevailed in the wilderness due to the many fires in large parts of Canada. The amount of smoke is so enormous that it is regularly blown hundreds of kilometers away. This is accompanied by a noticeable strain on the respiratory tract for every living creature. The air pollutants are too high. Both PM10 and the finer PM 2.5 particles represent a major burden in terms of the intensity measured. Both the PM10 and finer PM2.5 particles pose a significant burden at the measured intensity. Due to the massive fires, I am left with only two options: first, to adjust and change my travel route, and second, to capture these threatening scenarios in pictures.

Canadian Wildfires ruining the sky in Door County, WI

The Lolo Peak Fire burns the east side of the Bitterroots about two weeks ago, just west of Florence, Montana. This was taken from our backyard.

This lightning-caused fire, which is currently at 39,000 acres, has been burning since mid-July, and will probably continue until the weather changes and the snow arrives. The entire community is oh so grateful for the fire fighters who have been battling this blaze for all these weeks. Although two homes were lost, many, many more have been saved.
