Leon refers to himself as "the last prophet." I'd wanted to take pictures of him since I developed an interest in photography.

He lives in the van that's behind him in the pictures. None of these are posed. I wanted to use them for a project in my photojournalism class. I collected audio on this day, as well.

I went back two different days. The second day I invited Leon into my car. After he told me that the devil had told him that I wasn't coming back, I decided that I shouldn't go back by myself.

He relocated before I could finish the story for class. But he seems to have a way of turning up.
