a beautiful sight that we look forward to.
you can't see it, but one of the trees fell and still bloomed this year.

The sheer performance of this old Zeiss manual focus lens still surprises me - even more so when it is mounted on this middle aged Nikon camera.

A crisp image of a wild plum tree branch with clusters of small blossoms. An interesting aspect of this image is its change in focus, from the sharpness of the branches in the foreground to the soft blurriness of the background. The glossy postcard measures 3.5 inches by 5.5. inches. Stamped on the front is "E.M. Clark Ruthven, IA." 1908. SHSI IC E. M. Clark Coll PA 58

I'm not thrilled with the result here, but I spent so much time on it I feel compelled to post it. Not to give an "excuse" but one reason I had problems here was that my studio (aka my living room) is too cramped. I've tentatively decided to remove all the furniture (other than studio-related) so I'll have a real studio, not half-studio half-living-room.

Malcolm took this photo about 5 years ago. The raccoons are still coming, but they are no longer as cute as these three. They are all really big now, hulking and a little bit scary. Our dog goes crazy when they come to feast in the night.
