Hier werden die kleinsten zu echten Wikingern. Eine tolle Karussellfahrt in Wikingerschiffen, ein starker Wellengang ist garantiert.
Valsgaard lässt die Wikinger in Wallsbüll, unweit der dänischen Grenze und nur 15 Minuten Autofahrt von Flensburg entfernt, wieder aufleben. Die Anlage im Wallsbüller Freizeitpark bietet Einblicke in die historische Bauweise und das kulturelle Leben vor 1000 Jahren. Kontinuierlich wächst die kleine Siedlung in Eigeninitiative der Mitglieder des Valsgaard e.V. Führungen sind möglich sowie Übernachtungen nach Voranmeldung sind möglich. Höhepunkt ist die jährliche "Schlacht um Valsgaard" im August, aber auch an Feiertagen wie etwa Pfingsten ist die Anlage geöffnet.

Valsgaard is an reenactment of a Viking settlement in Wallsbüll, directly south of the Danish border and a mere 15 minutes drive from Flensburg. The small project allows visitors to experience life as it was 1000 years ago. The members of the Valsgaar Club continuously dedicate their free weekends to constructing traditional Viking buildings and bringing old traditions and crafts back to life. Tours of Valsgaard as well as groups staying overnight can be arranged by appointment. The yearly highlight is the "Battle for Valsgaard" in August, but the premises are also open on other occasions, such as Whitsun/Pentecost.

Church bell of Igreja da Misericórdia, Óbidos, Portugal.
Óbidos is a town (vila) of about 3100 inhabitants in central Portugal. The name of the town derives from the Latin word oppidum for fortified town. There was a settlement with the name Eburobrittium at this site already during the time of the Roman Empire. After the decline of the Roman empire the area was under control of the Visigoths until it was conquered by the Moors. Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal, recaptured it during the Reconquista in 1148. His grandson, King Afonso II, made the town a wedding present for his wife Urraca. Several other kings continued this custom, so that's why Óbidos is also called Vila das Rainhas (town of the queens).
Óbidos is a well-preserved example of medieval architecture and a popular tourist destination. Even today it is still surrounded by its old walls and the fortifications of the old castle.
