Adrian Lamo the 30 year old US hacker who initially received media attention for hacking into high profile media and software networks, and subsequently for his 2010 turning in of Bradley Manning to authorities over the leaking of US diplomatic communiqués and the so called ‘Collateral Murder’ video to WikiLeaks, has addressed a conference HOPE2010 to defend his decisions. Lamo having been labeled by fellow hackers as a scumbag, traitor and a snitch, claims he reported Manning to authorities as he believed the cables were dangerous to the lives of those named within. However the logs of the discussion between Lamo and Manning suggest deceit, with Lamo recorded stating “I'm a journalist and a minister. You can pick either, and treat this as a confession or an interview (never to be published)”.
Rowan Joffé the 38 year old UK screenwriter and director has been chosen by HBO and the BBC to write a film script about the WikiLeaks saga based on a New Yorker article written by Raffi Khatchadourian titled ‘No Secrets: Julian Assange’s Mission for Total Transparency’. The script will focus on Julian Assange’s leaking of the US government secret documents via his website and through selected media outlets, and likely to embroil the counter allegations brought against Assange of sexual related crimes in Sweden and his pending extradition. Of interest will be how the script deals with the US attempts to silence Assange’s embarrassing leaks that still continue to disseminate from the WikiLeaks website. The resulting film is likely to be produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall.
Network, Veterans For Peace, Iraq Veterans against the war, Code Pink and many other groups march east on Rt. 175 from Reece Gate to Llewellynn Avenue for a rally and "Speak Out' in support of Army Private Bradley Manning, whose court martial for releasing classified material to Wikileaks was to commence on June 3. Speakers included Ethan McCord, Dan Choi, Sarah Shourd, Ann Wright and Daniel Ellsberg. My rough 'guesstimate' of the crowd is around 750. Interactions between the absurdly numerous and over-armed police and the activists were generally respectful and peaceful.
Crowd jubilant as Ecuador grants Julian Assange political asylum - 16.08.2012
A large crowd of supporters of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange and US soldier Bradley Manning descended on the Ecuador embassy on 16.08.2012 to wait for news of a decision by the Ecuadorean government on Assange's application for political asylum.
At 1:30pm word came through embassy oficials that the government in Quito had granted asylum to Assange on humanitarian grounds. Despite cheering and applause from the crowd, it was widely accepted that Assange's problems are far from over, and this might just be a pyrrhic victory.

UPDATED - Bottom: Wikileak's "Personal Appeal" about which I shall not comment.
Remember WikiLeaks? The 251,287 leaked embassy cables had a lot to show about the status of public diplomacy. From the story of Bulgaria’s Aleksi “the Tractor” Petrov to disappearing ballot ink in Ukraine, to a Honduran coup d’état, the cables offer firsthand narratives of American diplomats dealing with crises, corruption, and testy world leaders. In embassies from Argentina to Zimbabwe, diplomats worked tirelessly to promote American diplomacy in a world frequently hostile to the United States.
They didn’t get much help back home. The cables show how policymakers frequently misread public diplomacy messages and opportunities, and reveal conflicting approaches from multiple Washington stakeholders intent on their own agenda, unaware of realities on the ground, creating a deepening gulf between Washington and the field.
Journalist Mary Thompson-Jones gave a timely conversation on past practices and how it impacts the current Trump administration.
The U.S. regime's attempts to silence or control WikiLeaks are bordering on pathetic.
This is a WikiLeaks mirror set up by... whom?

"Berlusconi incapace, Gheddafi ipocondriaco".
