London 11th December 2010 - As part of a worldwide campaign of support for Wikileaks and its imprisoned editor-in-chief Julian Assange, a group of demonstrators gather at London's famous Speakers' Corner.
"FREE BRADLEY MANNING" Even if you are not enthusiastic about Wikileaks, it seems that Manning has been held in custody for an unconscionable time before facing trial.
I made the mug out of polymer clay and hand wove the scarf with embroidery floss on an improvised cardboard loom.

Da das südamerikanische Land Ecuador für alle überraschend und unerwartet dem Journalisten und Wikileaks-Gründer Julian Assange das politische Asyl entzogen hat und er anschließend von britischen Sicherheitskräften in Gewahrsam genommen wurde, sind international die Sorgen und Ängste vor einem weiteren Schlag gegen die Pressefreiheit sehr groß.

We called by the Free Julian Assange Rally outside the Sydney Town Hall the other day. There was something for everyone, including a woman with kooky sunglasses blowing bubbles across the crowd. I read that there were 500 people there, but when we turned up not long after the official starting time, there would have been barely 100 people there. The police looked bored and most of the placards were really promoting other political causes. I really don't think Australians care enough to rally about most things. We are pretty isolated geographically from the rest of the world... and hey its summer time, there are plenty of other outdoor activities to keep us amused.

The US embassy cables saga has also topped the NEWS Media just about everywhere else on Earth. And its only the very beginning.
Some US republicans have advocated forgetting about the US Constitution's right to freedom of speech and the fact that wanton assassination is a war crime.
Even so, if they manage to try hunting down Assange supporters I want to provide them with no evidence. Hence I have obscured the faces of operatives working and pictured at this stall.

Human rights activists from the Bradley Manning Support Network, Veterans For Peace, Iraq Veterans against the war, Code Pink and many other groups march east on Rt. 175 from Reece Gate to Llewellynn Avenue for a rally and "Speak Out' in support of Army Private Bradley Manning, whose court martial for releasing classified material to Wikileaks was to commence on June 3. Speakers included Ethan McCord, Dan Choi, Sarah Shourd, Ann Wright and Daniel Ellsberg. My rough 'guesstimate' of the crowd is around 750. Interactions between the absurdly numerous and over-armed police and the activists were generally respectful and peaceful.
