Monochrome Interlude: some photos get a second life when processed in black and white!

Valley de la Luna isn’t actually a valley at all, but a maze of canyons and giant spires. The formations, composed mainly of clay and sandstone, were created by the persistent erosion of mountains by the area’s strong winds and rains.

Using a close-focus wide-angle lens, I was nearly touching the bee when I snagged this frame. Luckily, it was one of the big docile bumble bees who was happy to let me spy on them.

When you start to consider a trip to the Galapagos, there are three ways to see the islands and its heralded wildlife: by boat, where you sail for about a week on the same ship; by land tour, or via day trips, where you base yourself in one place and pay for a la carte experiences. Boat is my preferred way.

A rainforest is an area of tall, mostly evergreen trees and a high amount of rainfall. Rainforests are Earth’s oldest living ecosystems, with some surviving in their present form for at least 70 million years. They are incredibly diverse and complex, home to more than half of the world’s plant and animal species—even though they cover just 6% of Earth’s surface. This makes rainforests astoundingly dense with flora and fauna. Rainforests’ rich biodiversity is incredibly important to our well-being and the well-being of our planet.

11 exposures stacked median in Photoshop, each between 5-20 seconds, totaling about 2 minutes, then blended with a darker exposure sky.

This was blue hour just before it became pitch dark with freezing temperatures around 28F (-2C).

Thank you very much for your kind comments and faves.

Shot with the actioncam SJ7 Star from SJCAM.

This camera for under 200€ supports RAW and is a good replacement for carrying an unltrawideangle lens around.

An actioncam has not the best and biggest sensor or high quality optics but the ultrawideangle look that you can get is unbeaten for the weight, price and robustness. As many of them now also support RAW it has become my ultrawideangle lens replacement. In the narrow streets of cities a piece of gold in my pocket.

The present church was built after the fire of 1844. It exhibits a neoclassical construction, decorated with one of the largest organ in South America, a large lamp of Sevillian origin, a French neo-Gothic pulpit, Carrara marbles and wood carving. It is also one of the 70 churches in the world authorized to display the banner of the Vatican.

Greetings my friends. Wishing you a happy Sunday. Hope you have a wonderful day. Have fun and take care.
