Gas lanterns have been bringing light to Zagreb's Upper Town since 1863. There are about 200 gas lamps left today (out of the original 364), which have been hand lit for the past 153 years, just like in the olden times, by lamplighters. Every night, before dark, regardless of weather conditions, two lamplighters in uniform walk through the Upper Town and manually light the lanterns. The whole lighting process takes about 2-3 hours. Before dawn, the lamplighters hit the streets again to turn each lantern off.
For the modern vs. vintage, I chose to shot a candle with flame for vintage along with the desk lamp connect to electric. For those few days that Broken Arrow and Tulsa was powerless the old candles and battery radio was nice to have.

Micro (macro) photographs of lit candles, showcasing the amazing art that's produced when a candle's wick burns and the candle's wax melts into incredible shapes.
The heptagon is the seven-sided shape produced, I believe, as an artifact via reflection or captured lens flare from my camera's lens.
It took me awhile to be able to expose properly for both the burning wick and the flame itself, and it's challenging to get a sharp focus as I shoot these handheld.

Many of you contacted me and asked me with regard the photo of September 6th, Keanu and Me and wanted to see John Wick.
Well here he is and hell yes I'm smiling!
Even with his rugged exterior... he is the kindest and sweetest man that I have ever met in Second Life.
No... I'm not involved with him, so you can forget that idea.
He is single and happy to be that way, just as I am.
John is a man of focus, commitment, sheer will... something you know very little about. I once saw him kill three men in a bar... with a pencil, with a f**king pencil!
And as always, it is a pleasure having you with us again... Mr. Wick
